I don't know if this would be the right place to mention it, but when downloading the data for the Android version of CSTW it is cancelling the download if my screen turns itself off.
e: getting some issues with stability too. Some crashes, what seemed like a minimize animation but the game stayed open and I couldn't do anything, music would also keep playing when minimized unless I forced closed it.
Diva's level 40 power would make it an indispensable class if you were able to use it for more than a few fights. Even without it, though, that +100 Speed gives it perfect synergy with Cordswain. After activating all the speed bonuses, Moira was doing like 4.5k a round - and she was going very quickly.

I will definitely give that a try tonight. I accidentally quit out without saving last night, so I have to go fight the damned Evil King again. (I was SO mad. I went to the exit screen, thought "Oh, I need to save," and then accidentally hit A instead of B on my controller anyway.)

Yeah, I had her with Diva for a bit, but in the end the CTS has only a slightly lower Agility Passive, and Speed Stance more than makes up for that. I'd complain about Moira needing five or six turns to fully buff her speed if she hadn't been taking three turns for everyone else's one.

Is there a way to speed up battles, the battle animations take forever to get through it feels like
Really? I felt the animations were too fast, though sometimes towards the end the battles did seem to drag a bit but I don't think it was because of the animations.
Really? I really felt he clarified himself as being the anti-hero protagonist near the end. If he's to be trusted, the world will end no matter what. He's just making sure that when the world is reborn, it's reborn from something pure, intelligent and innocent. I figured that was really the best thing you could do in the circumstance.
Him getting his ass beat for eternity by Gabe, and his deep final regret, and the Underhell, and then Tycho meeting the mysterious character at the end?
I suppose you're right, but I considered that to be part of the credits. He got what was coming to him, but his actions were never really explained I felt. So, he collected the pieces of the God of Doors, and brought them together, but then... Yog was never reborn in full? I was expecting that to be the last boss to be honest. And the Necrowombicon, what happened to it? Did it get destroyed in the fight? Did it get rended out of existence like the heroes? I feel the ending did more to set up Rain Slick 4 than answer any of the questions that were posed in Rain Slick 3. But ah well.
Anyone know when the Android date is? Not sure if I wish to wait for it to come out or just start playing it on my PC (I have no issue buying both, due to the steam bonuses)

Diva's passive revives everyone with 1HP in the case of a wipe
So what's the deal with Slacker at 40? Does Tool Around unlock some new, super awesome thing? Should I stick it with Codswainer on Moira so I can use Tool Around until something amazing happens

God damn it I cannot get past Bank of Money, the fight with 2 fleshreapers 2 visor misers 2 swipewriters. I can get like 2 down, maybe. Just feels like the vastly outdamage me. On insane, also.
Edit: Hey also, what the hell determines damage?
Like "Trashfire" says "medium fire damage", but it does double damage when it's on Gabe even though he has only like 150 Magic.
Some abilities do elemental damage but use strength, i.e. the elementalists Fireslash (str) vs. Fireball (mag). Trashfire is most likely str based, being a hobo skill.

To your first question, try turtling up and having Jim get a full Fire/Hail Prophecy off from Apocalypt. On someone's first or second turn have them use Rat Swarm from Hobo. Then Have Tycho or Gabe taunt with Crabomancer and just keep chain reviving him. The hoboism should bring them down low enough that the prophecy should wipe most the field. Fully upgrading your potions helps alot.
To your second question, many of the elemental attacks are still Physical attacks, the Elemenstor's skill set is a good example of the difference. I assume since hobo gives +strength that Trashcan Fire is strength based, though I never really used it
Hm. If I quit out of the game and try to launch it again, I get a Steam error that says "The game is currently unavailable (Application running)." The thing is, well... it isn't. I can't even find the process for it. What do I do (short of rebooting my computer)?
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

@Kupi: I have this problem too. I know what's happening: Steam is not recognizing that the game has shutdown. If you taskmanager out of steam (you can't even quit steam since it won't do that with a game running), you can restart steam and then the game.

I guess it's just mislabeled.
It's not. If it's based on the magic stat, it would say something like Fire magic damage.
Finished it tonight. I loved it, my wife was lukewarm. A few thoughts:
This isn't a complaint about Game 3 so much as 1 & 2 and the series as a whole, but it feels like Tycho's motivations kind of came out of no where. I think they could have been set up better, or at least hinted at, in 1 & 2. I was honestlly kind of glad at the big reveal of
Anne-Claire in the Crystal
at the end, thinking to myself, "Well, at least that makes sense. It's twisted, but it makes sense."
My wife was disappointed that there was no voice acting. I pointed out that this games was aping the styles of the older 8 and 16 bit RPGs. She argues that just because one goes for the Nostalgic look doesn't mean one can't add improvements. We eventually agreed to disagree, and when she had to focus on her work, (she works from home,) I would read the dialogue to her in a variety of silly voices.
Loved the Job system. LOVED it. Moira with Cordswain/Diva was a goddess of speed and death.
I had more but my eyes won't stay open, so more later. I will just say I would gladly have paid $20 for a game of this caliber. It was fantastic.
Personally, I would rather have no voice acting than BAD voice acting, and I cant quite imagine that Zeboyd has enough money hats to get good voice acting.
Honestly I'm not a fan of most voice acting in games. I know it's a personal preference and I'm in the minority but I'd rather read walls of text than sit and listen to someone. In games that have voiced dialogue with subtitles I'll read what they say and skip to the next thing as soon as I can, if I can.

It's been a while since I've played the previous games, but wasn't that laid out at the end of the second episode? My memory is vague, but I'm pretty sure I remember his intentions being questioned as the poem became more central to the plot. I might be getting things mixed up with the written version of the third episode, but I was aware of it going into this game.
Either way, the series has definitely been explicit about Gabe and Tycho not being heroes even a little bit. Like, there's a whole extended sequence in the second game where you straight up start robbing people.

There's also a brief mention in the first game about the Brahe name carrying "an epic destiny" and that's why his brother left and Tycho isn't allowed to speak to Anne-Claire.
In regards to voice acting, the only real voice acting in the first and second episode was the Narrator and I couldn't stand him. Nothing against the guy who did the voice it's just I have a specific way of "hearing" Penny Arcade dialogue in my head, and hearing someone else speak it to me was just odd.
It has, admittedly, been a long time since I played 1 & 2, so maybe it is subtly laid in. I will have to go replay them to check. oh. oh. what a chore. twist my arm.
Anyway, I do agree that voice acting wasn't really necessary, (as I said, that was my wife's gripe, not mine,) especially as having Tycho speak in Poker Night at the Inventory felt... wrong.
So what's the deal with Slacker at 40? Does Tool Around unlock some new, super awesome thing? Should I stick it with Codswainer on Moira so I can use Tool Around until something amazing happens
Nah. Stick with Codswainer.
I meant use Slacker with Codswainer. I am almost sure that Tool Around gets new effects as you level up.
Voice acting would have added a huge amount to the budget for very little gain.
This.
As someone who has contact with VA for gaming, it's pretty fucking serious business. It's inconceivably expensive, inconceivably complex, it makes you rethink and rework the ENTIRETY of your dialogue, and it involves dealing with a fuckton of outside people and outside interferences, unless you're Bioware and EA buys you a whole studio with all the imaginable extra stuff. And even then it's a nightmare.
Unless you do it like fan projects (a billion internet dudes send you a billion files recorded in a billion different ways) which is still a logistical and technical nightmare, you just can't do it.

Yeah, especially so many of the characters in the game are actual people with actual voices we've already heard.

I actually really liked Tycho's voice in PNATI.
Also, for serious, on Insane, what are the basic skills people are using to get past any of the 6-enemy encounters in the Bank of Money?
Bought earlier today. Finishing my way through adventures 2 beforehand. (I never finished due to that bug that prevented progress and that took forever to be fixed) so I was at the monkey fights final part. Will be playing the third soon! Excited.
Oh and im on the Xbox.

Well, except for the entirety of the final battle. Might need to go back to the Colisseum to see if I can wax bad there, too. Pulverize helps a lot.

Hard to top that
edit: but, really, I was playing on Normal so it's not like any fights were challenging enough for me to need that.

Don't know what's causing it/permanent fix though.
Man oh man is this better than Grind->Grind->Grind->4 hour boss.
I beat insane without ever stepping foot in the colliseum. It gets a little rough near Evil King, but it's all doable.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
What classes were you running?

Does this have Cloud Saves or something? If not, how do I get them to my home base, I've gotten to Evil Town and I'm leaving tomorrow.
And saves are located in the "savedGames" folder in my documents, in the "Rainslick3" folder.
