If I take Diva off of Moira and replace it with CTS, the Speed Stance - if it's multiplicative - would be absolutely absurd when combined with Elbow Grease, Silhouette, and Bootstraps
I liked using some Energite on Gabe, then have him use Attack Stance + Focus (or what was the name of the skill that doubles the dmg) and finally use Pulverize. Plus, if I used Jim's Ichor ability, then I did even more dmg.

I doubt they are multiplicative, they probably just increase speed by a flat number. That said, regardless of the actual math, speed stance plus elbow grease, silhouette, bootstraps and buffz is absolutely absurd and I highly recommend it.

Also the weapon that increases item effectiveness, as it also happens to the weapon with most +speed for her.

It really helped me during the final battles.
I don't think Ichor helps here, since Pulverize already ignores Defense. Better to lay some Buffz on him. And use that Flaming Fist power at some point, since it also ups attack.

Just checked it out, and if it's just a flat number each then Speed Stance would need to boost speed by at least 41 to make it better than Diva. That said, I ran with CTS on her and have no complaints.
It's really pretty cool how (with the exception of Apocalypt/Elemenstor) none of the class combinations seemed so overwhelmingly obvious or dominant that everyone used them.
Said another way, the class system was well tuned to encourage a lot of variety in game play styles. Yay.

Man, this was a fun time! Good job, Zeboyd. I don't know if videogame companies have beefs but I will totally be on your side if you start some shit with Hothead.
Is there a big payoff to using Slacker at any point? And I don't seem to understand how apocalypt works...
Took me a while myself. You only have one prophecy going at once, and each time you use a skill you add an effect to it. As long as you keep ranting the prophecy will grow increasingly more powerful.
I haven't tested whether you can stack the same effect multiple times, though.

Ahhh...Was wondering why the hell nothing would happen.
Been trying out some of the combinations listed by folks in this thread. Super speedy Moira is a great one.
My main problem is knowing when to use powers from different jobs effectively. I suppose it just comes with practice.

"Tool Around" starts getting some interesting random damage/heal effects. Im at level 30 with it, but the only abilities I have are Tool Around, Power Nap and Gadget Freak.

You cannot have the same effect on a prophecy more than once. So early on you'll be stuck with two/three damaging effects. Then again, you can usually only get three effects in before the prophecy goes off without using Retcon, and I don't really think retcon is worth it.
Alternatively, you can use Apocalypt just to set up a prophecy for the magic buff while it's on the time bar.

I used retcon after my first prophecy and still couldn't squeeze in more than two other prophecies.
I guess you need to pair Apocalyst with Cordswain or Diva to fit more than 3 effects (unless you can cast Retcon first maybe?)

I dunno, to be fair I have never even tried using Retcon because it doesn't seem like it'd be worth it.
Generally I do one of three things.
1) Pump out three damaging effects. Maybe replace one of the elements with Boils if I know the target is strong against a certain element.
2) Two elements with Chosen One if it's going to be a longer fight, the refunded MP helps out a lot.
3) Just toss down whatever prophecy and cast other stuff, just using the incoming prophecy for a Magic boost.

Prophecies are good if you combine them with speed boosts, like from Elbow Grease. Sticking Apocalypt and Diva on the same character could be interesting with that setup; if you put it on Jim he can use tons of Prophecies all at once, and steal some of Moira's unused Cordswainer MP.
So.... I was having a blast. Right up until I got to (I guess) the final boss. Is it possible to interrupt his dark void attack somehow? After 6 tries, I fuckin... I almost had him! But right when my prophecy was about to fire, dark void shot past it.... Argh!!!
Edit: maybe if I use the cordwainer's speed buff + the magic generating garden + power nap, i can fire off Gabe's pulverize ability in a quicker succession...

Your first priority from the start of the battle should be buffing Gabe's attack as much as possible, upping his MP, and firing off Pulverize. Gabe himself can go into Attack Stance and use Powerup, while Moira can get off a few speed boosts, Stun the boss, and throw Energizers at Gabe. Jim can hit Gabe with a Buffz, I guess, or whatever. Have your Crabomancer do their Crabomancer thing to draw as much attention to themselves while dishing as much damage as possible. Your Gentleman should use Trust Fund.
Your major priority should be firing off Pulverize. At level 40-ish it'll do 63k if preceded by Attack Stance and Powerup (assuming Gabe's other class is Masochist or Hobo). The rest of the damage can be dealt by your Crabomancer and your Cordswainer.
Yeah, because Jim's defend bonus lets him do something the next turn AND increases his defense while giving him the extra MP. Power nap isn't very good period, but at least it wouldn't be redundant on another character.
I'm sorry, what. You can have more than one prophecy going at once?
WHAT. MADNESS I SAY.
One prophecy but with multiple effects. You select the first one, then the next time you select a new effect, then another, etc., until it finally kicks in and they all occur at once. If you start with retcon, it creates the prophesy but the prophesy takes longer to resolve so you can stack more effects onto it. Nothing like hitting every enemy with fire, ice, wind, and earth all at once, or perhaps replacing one of those with a full party heal, or poison all enemies, or using the skill that gives you MP based on how many effects the prophesy has.
The apocalypt is probably one of my favorite classes, really.
I love the mental images these classes conjur. You're fighting a giant golem of some kind:
You got one guy who's really into fighting it, but then suddenly he loses interest "whatever". Then he takes a nap. And then "Hold up guys, I'mma plant a garden real quick." The guy next to him is just standing there yelling about how there's totally going to be fire and brimstone all up in this bitch real soon. But also there will be locusts and boils. "But don't worry guys, we'll totally be invigorated by the whole thing!". There's Jim rolling around the battlefield, bibbling out rose and yogurt scented fumes as he polishes everyone's shoes. Finally there's a loud roar and the ground rumbles in Moira's direction, everyone looks over. Oh, its nothin' she just turned into a goddamn T-rex...
Love this game. Love it love it love it!
Also, I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't gotten it yet, the transformation that Dinosorcerer gets at lvl 40 is the best thing.

Yeah, I didn't even use elemenstor, much less think pairing it with apocalypt was an obvious combo
It's pretty obvious for maximum magic stats.

Right now my team build is, judging by the rest of the people in this thread, incredibly stupid and ramshackle.
Gabe - Crabomancer/Apocalypt
Tycho - Elemenstor/Gentleman
Jim - Cordwainer/Hobo
Moira - Tube Samurai/Gardenar
And I only just got to the Bank of Money after a couple of hours of playing last night.

Tycho- Elemenstor/Apocalypt
Jim- Cordswain/Crabomancer
Moira- Hobo/Dinosorcerer
Hobo and Dinosorcerer are probably my favorite classes, followed by Brute. This game is just so wonderful!
Now that Apocalypt has been described to me, I will put that back in.
Alternatively, you can use Apocalypt just to set up a prophecy for the magic buff while it's on the time bar.
Is zombie based RPG beer tapper still on?

I realize I did not know how to use it.
I'm such a n00b to these kinds of things.
I think the only ones that stack are the Gardenar's Attack/Magic buffs and the Elemenstor's level 40 debuff.
