In that case, CTS probably is better on Moira than Diva - I'm assuming that Speed Stance makes up for the 40 Speed difference between the classes

So I'm having trouble figuring out the Rock/Paper/Scissors Pokemon deal this game has, if any. Is it safe to assume fire>ice, and water>fire? What else?

Let me clarify the buff stuff a bit.

Except for the Gardenar buffs, buffs don't stack with themselves. However, buffs will stack with other buffs.
Buffs and debuffs give a % bonus to a stat. However if you have multiple buffs, the buffs are additive.
    For example, if you have two different buffs that give you +50% speed, you'll get +100% speed (1 x (1 + 0.5 + 0.5)) rather than +225% speed (1 x 1.5 x 1.5).
The exception is the +10% power/turn monster boost - that's factored in separately from other buffs & debuffs.
So I'm having trouble figuring out the Rock/Paper/Scissors Pokemon deal this game has, if any. Is it safe to assume fire>ice, and water>fire? What else?

    Generally speaking...

    Fire & Water/Ice are opposed.
    Light & Dark are opposed.
Flying enemies are weak to Wind.
Heavy enemies are weak to Earth.

But enemy resistance are on a case by case basis so this doesn't always hold true.

Basically if it's obvious an enemy is weak to something, it probably is. If it isn't...then it's probably not.

More involved than I thought! In that case, CTS is probably definitely better on Moira, since even 10% of her base speed will be higher than the base difference between CTS and Diva.

Thanks for that! Now to figure out how to maximize that Cordswainer badness while maintaining Gabe's ability to wreck houses

Absolutely loving the game. It drew me away from Magic 2013, which says a lot.
    The
    8-bit battle
    theme is somehow beyond fantastic.

So, I'm working on an Insane play through right now, and everything is going fine. I just felt that one thing needed to be brought to the devs' attention. The Crabomancer fight on Insane is pure luck. I don't feel that there is another fight where luck plays so heavily, and unfortunately, luck tends not to be on the player's side. The issue is really the lack of options available at this point in the game. In my opinion, this this battle really hurts the feel/flow of the game.

When is the power of a prophecy set? Is it on creation, effect addition, or execution? If you throw up a garden, will the entire buff apply to the prophecy when it triggers?

That seems right from what I remember of my play through.

    I've run into a bug.

I had started a new game and decided to remove Anne-Claire's Wrench before she left the party, since I thought I could sell it since she won't be coming back. However, the game crashes every time I try to select the Wrench to sell. I have tried this five times with five crashes performing the same action.

Uploading a fix in a minute.

EDIT: And it's up. Thanks for letting us know - someone mentioned a similar sell crash bug earlier but wasn't specific enough for us to figure out what the problem was.

Finished this up last night. Fun times, loved the class system though I agree with the complaints about not seeing details about unequipped classes.

I do think that Phantasy Star 4 style storyboard scenes would work well for some events that were almost solely described via text. The writing is excellent of course but a desire for a PSIV style presentation dug its way into my mind the first time I saw one of the framed images. It would certainly fit with the comic nature of PA (the first PA games did something similar but animated).

Loaded BoD7 and Cthulhu onto my netbook before I went away for vacation, cause I figured they might be some of the only things on my steam account that would run on this hardware.

BoD7 crashes right after the intro video producing a crash log that says "Song file cannot begin playback, make sure it is not DRM protected" (or something very similar)

Cthulhu also crashes right after the intro video, but instead brings up the windows error reporting message.

Guessing this might just mean my netbook hardware isn't enough to play these?

Netbooks typically can play these games.

Do you have Windows Media Player installed?

Actually, we tried a PS4 style but ended up scrapping it for this game. Too difficult to get the pixel style to match up with Mike's art style.

Essentially for that kind of thing, the art styles don't mesh well with rare exception, so generally it didn't work right.

Just a head's up: Android Central, one of the bigger Android news sites out there, just threw down a review of Cthulhu Saves The World.

They liked it, of course. There are some bugs/performance issues, but I expect those to get ironed out soon. :) I'll probably buy my 4th copy of the game in the upcoming week or so.

From what I've tested so far, prophecy base power is set when the FIRST prophecy is cast. So this means if Tycho casts a heal, followed by his first prophecy, then all prophecies cast will get the bonus from Balanced.

Edit: So, further testing disproves that theory, its Magic Bonus is based on when each prophecy is cast.

That being said, And It Shall Come to Pass does boost each effect based on how many prophecies have been added. Ecstasy also applies to any prophecies cast after the first one, so there's another 35% bonus to add after determining the total bonus of And It Shall Come to Pass.

Edit: Ok, Retcon doesn't trigger And It Shall Come to Pass, or increase Chosen One, but all other prophecies boost numerical prophecies by 10%.

Excuse me, but I wanted to know if the Cthulhu Saves the World bug fix was ever released to fix a certain cameo character's self regen in one of the bonus modes?

I choose the ability and it doesn't appear on the list.

I just started PAA3 the other day, lots of fun. Gives me so much nostalgia (days of playing Chrono trigger especially). Great work guys!

I was just about to say this. This game is awesome and I think I'm going to replay some SNES classics because of it. Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG especially. I also love the music. Any chance we'll see a soundtrack released?
