Y'know, having recently gotten deep into Xenoblade Chronicles, I've come to really appreciate one of the subtle strokes of genius that you guys have been using since Breath of Death VII. Namely, collapsing the entire equipment management process into buying one set of gear that has the sum total of all the small pieces of gear that you'd otherwise purchase and equip separately. I have almost never seen a JRPG where this wasn't a strictly forward progression anyway, so not having to run through the same buy -> equip process five or six times because, for some reason, every part of your body has to be individually represented is a godsend.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
I just purchased Cthulhu Saves The World on Android and was curious to find out how big is the file it needs to download after purchasing the game since it isn't mentioned in the description.

I don't remember exactly but it was a pretty small download on the PC. Steam says 200MB.
Yeah it is under 200MB. Was an idiot and realized I could check it out in the data usage under settings and it shows 194MB of download.
I read that they're having issues with the Galaxy Nexus (or just Samsung products as a whole) with it crashing after load. I can confirm the same and unfortunately can't send any data regarding the crash to help you debug it. Sorry guys. Hopefully it will run on my TF101 when I get home.
Does anyone know who did the music for Rain-slick 3? I've been looking everywhere online and can't find an answer. I'm also wondering where I can buy it because I have an itch to listen to the "overworld" theme right now.

You know, you could just look in the credits.
Alex Mauer did the vast majority of the music (there were a couple tracks from guest composers).
...Can't believe I didn't think of that. Thank you for the info!

So I had some weird crash happen to me.
Not exactly sure how it went down but Gabe was poisoned and I used Souleater or whatever the move is called. The hit all attack that Masochist has.
Can't remember exactly what happened. But he did the attack, then I think he died from poison damage before he took damage from using soul eater, then the game froze.
Really, I'm not sure if that is what happened since it happened pretty fast, just what I think happened.
But I'm sure it involved poison and using that attack and Gabe dying somewhere in the middle.

XBLIG version right? That bug has been fixed in the PC version for a while; the next XBLIG update will include that fix as well.
IIRC, that particular bug only happens if you use a Masochist ability when you have the same amount of HP as the ability costs. So until the XBLIG version gets patched, try to avoid doing that.
Finished the game yesterday and loved it. 5 stars on my Backloggery. I can't say than you enough for adding a fullscreen mode that maintained the game's aspect ratio on non-widescreen monitors.
My only complaint is that the Gumshoe's "Slow" ability should have been called "Shoe Gum." :P (I guess it would have been nice to have more items to inspect in the dungeons, but the amazing monster names and descriptions made up for it.)
Ending spoilers:
Holy crap, what a cliffhanger. I didn't read all of the text chapters, so I didn't expect that at all.
Since everyone was split up into groups of two, I wonder if we'll be playing mini-parties made up of Gabe/Blood, Moira/Jim, and Tycho/his father at the start of Episode 4

A small amount of MP regenerates after battle, and you get more MP regen'd after battle if you defeat enemies quicker. To get a full refill, save at a save point. You can increase your MP refill post-battle rate with some level-up choices for some characters too.
Since I don't know who to ask between Slash and RainbowDespair I figured I would post it here. Has TinkerHouse Games talked to you in regards to the Android version of CStW? Sad to see that you guys are getting blamed for something that isn't your fault over the crashing.

We're in touch with THG. They're working hard on fixes for that type of stuff. I imagine it's pretty damn hard for a tiny studio such as them to develop and test a game for such a huge array of hardware and operating systems though. It's not like they have a test unit for every Android device/phone out there to fully test on. That said they're doing their best to address bugs/crashing and also to offer more interface options.
Ouch, I feel sorry for them having to try and convert and debug the game if they're small. Sorry if I sounded offended that they haven't come up with a patch yet. Didn't mean to sound like I was impatient (after reading my post it does sound like I was). Nor am I offended that the game has bugs. I bought it to support you guys and to eventually play the game on my phone/tablet. I also wanted to let you guys know that they can respond to those negative comments once they have a few minutes to spare (if they didn't know that already).
Jerry gave away some information on the free DLC for Rain-Slick 3 on the front page today.
Enthusiasts of On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 should know that we’re getting close to finalizing the first free DLC package, “The Lair Of The Seamstress,” which we’re hoping will come out soon. We don’t know when, exactly, but apparently there’s some kind of big convention or something next month; maybe we’ll try and put it out then. Zeboyd is coming up tomorrow to work on Rain-Slick 4 and the last DLC (also free) for the current one that details the fate of the player character from the first two games.
I’m one of those lore weirdos, you know? I always, always, always had a plan.

This will be interesting to see. Looking forward to it! Also, it's very generous of you guys to release them for free!

We're planning to release all the DLC for the XBLIG version as well, but of course timing in that regard depends on the review process and so forth.

So hey, TVTropes occasionally has actually useful information. I saw some discussion of the Slacker's "Tool Around" skill earlier in this thread, and I don't believe I ever saw someone post the trick to it. Spoilered just in case anyone wants to figure it out for themselves:
Tool Around does not gain new abilities as the Slacker levels up. Otherwise you could just slap it on around level 40 without any real work invested in it. Instead, Tool Around functions like Fuchsia did in PAA Episode 1: it gets stronger the more it's used. So it starts out throwing your turn and doing other mostly-useless shit, and builds up to a random set of fairly useful moves. If you want to use the Slacker class, start using Tool Around early and keep at it. I recommend pairing it with Gardenar; all Gardenar really needs to do is put up a Garden and use Rake Slash, at which point you've discharged the usefulness of the class and can feel free to Tool Around to your heart's content.
... or maybe everyone knew this and I'm just an imbecile who didn't catch on.

Steam thread referred me here (I also posted a much shorter version on the steam forums)
So I was having some weirdness with PAA3 today. When I first launched it, I couldn't do anything at the menu, then all of a sudden Golden Eye source started up. It seems all my inputs were "underneath" PAA3 and being sent to Steam instead. Closed out of GES, and played PAA3 for a few hours fine. Came back a few hours later, same non responsive menu, but I alt-tabbed though all my programs and went back to PAA3. I played for about 45 minutes, saved, exited. I tried it again later, it didn't launch. I tried again and it said it was already running. Waited, nothing happened, I closed steam, fired it back up and it said it had no save device, so I couldn't even get passed the "press enter" screen. Rebooted system, all my saves are gone. Any chance I can resurrect my saves?

Sounds like Rainslick3 wasn't coming up as the current program. In other words, it's displaying the game on top but your computer is not treating it as the "current" program, so for example if you hit Enter it opened up whatever was selected in the program that was actually active (hence launching GES).
Sometimes RS3, because of XNA, takes a bit to boot. So the best thing is when you launch is to give it a few seconds for it to come up and make sure it's the current active program. That should prevent it from being non-responsive and running things that shouldn't be running. I'm not sure why it's not coming up as the current active program but that seems to be the case...
Now as to why your saves disappeared, that's really really unusual. Do you have admin privileges and everything on the user profile you're logged into windows with? It's just really weird that it would save and then later not let you save and erase your files.
The promo was supposed to end July 2nd (as per the ad at the top of the forums) but I don't know if it's still happening or not.
I bought Rainslick 3 on the 22nd and still got BoD and CSTW. I already own both games so I'm not sure what to do with them. But the bundle doesn't seem to be available anymore.
We’ve just released a major patch (code-named “The Fan-Fiction Free
DLC patch) for Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
3 to Steam. An update for the XBLIG version will follow soon (no firm time-line
due to the way XBLIG handles updates).
Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness v1.1 changes:
New Feature – Added a Costume Change feature that allows the player to
change the appearance of the 4 main characters to a new theme.
Costumes can be changed when starting a new game or in-game via the
quit/difficulty select menu.
Costume – Added “Gender-Swapped” costume set.
Costume – Added “Furry” costume set.
Bug fix: characters no longer retain class stat bonuses from removed classes.
Balance improvement: Crabomancer’s special attack is more predictable
and slightly less powerful.
Balance improvement: Evil King’s stat boosting ability only increases
strength & magic stats (previously, it also boosted speed).
Miscellaneous typo & bug corrections.
This update (and all future updates to Rain-Slick 3) are free of charge. If Steam doesn’t automatically update the game, log out of Steam and log back in and it should update then.
The next major update is entitled “The Lair of the Seamstress” and will probably be released sometime around PAX next month.
So this DLC is just costumes and bug fixes? That's enough to get me to start the game over again. maybe screw around with the classes. Play it on a harder difficulty etc.
Okay, Maybe I'm just doing it for the novelty of seeing Gabe and Tycho in dresses the entire game.
Odd, steam says it downloaded 0 of 0 bytes, but the update works.
We are just that good.
Kidding, the update data-size was relatively small due to the nature of Steam's new system and how it deploys patches. But it was obviously more than 0 of 0 bytes, I think it was a few megabytes.
So...um...I feel like I'm missing something here. Is the game meant to be rather hard on normal? Enemies now have over a thousand health a piece and I don't feel like my characters are getting any stronger. I'm fighting in the arena for cash to try and make life easier, but it's tedious as all hell given it that it takes about 14 arena trips to afford one piece of 'middle-ish' gear.
The way mana works in combat is weird, and I'm not really feeling it tbh. Tips, please?
