Also, My first time through I beat the first boss with a sliver of life left. As he was dying I got hit by a minion and got a game over. Had to start over. That kind of sucked.
I know one of the shops sells an extra life, and I want to say it was either in the record store, or in the book store. Pretty sure it isn't one of the items in Wallace's shop.
Glad to hear this is coming to XBLA (I thought it was PSN exclusive). I only have 1 PS3 controller but 4 360 controllers, and this game screams out for coop with the wife.

Yeah, the numerical health sort of throws me for a loop, sometimes I'm not even aware that I'm just about to die.
As for the combat, it starts really slow because really all you can do is punch and kick. As you get more attacks it starts to feel a bit better.
EDIT: Oh, well nevermind. I still want Lifebars for me though. :P
I didn't know this movie was an entire franchise. I got a free movie ticket for donating blood.* I will see this Friday.
* Only 10 % of Americans who can donate actually go through with it. Get to it you needle fearing pussies!
Hey, I got a movie ticket for giving blood too. Ticket says you might not be able to use it the first 2 weeks of certain new releases though. At least mine does.
So there's 4 player co-op offline, is there any online?

Unfortunately not. I would have gladly paid 5 more dollars for a release with online co-op.
I'm trying not to play too much cause I want the game to last and I'm pretty sure it's not a long game. 2 hours for tnight and I'm good.
Fuckin loved lucas lee's set. So cool.
The games difficulty certainly was a righteous bitch as a lvl 1 guy, but as you level up it gets waaay easier. Interesting way of setting it up. I can just keep playing and playing and leveling up and the game gets continously easier as I use my infinite continues. It's kinda the opposite of how a difficulty curve should work...
Overall worth the money easily.

Loved the PS3 demo, but I'm holding out two weeks until the 360 release due to having only 1 PS3 controller. Gotta get some sweet co-op going on.
The game's awesome, though. Loved the little detail of being able to enter the No-Account Video store but not being able to buy anything except paying off Scott's $504 late fees. Nice little call-out to Volume 2. The only thing that irked me was not being able to run up and down, though it's not that bad since you can run diagonally and it's generally not smart to run in battle least you get hit by an enemy anyway.
Now, I've heard that the 360 version is 15 dollars, but that can't be right if the PS3's is 10, right?

It could be
MS still charged $20 for the longest time for Penny Arcade Episode 1, even when it was on PSN for $15

Oh well, still cheaper than paying 50 bucks for another PS3 controller. And given what I've seen from the demo, I'd have paid even 20 for it.

While you can't run up or down, double tapping up or down will make you do a quick hop.
Life bars on enemies you mean? Or a life bar for the players instead of the numerical display?
Yeah, that shit is annoying because I don't know how I'm doing with enemies. Until of course in a barrage of hits the last number is way smaller than my previous hit's damage. That means they only had 1-3 HP left anyway.

You'll know you killed the enemy when you see KPOW.
Also I like this game a lot so far, just defeated Lucas Lee and then died halfway through Lee's Palace
But one thing I really don't like, mainly because it's so different from other brawlers I've played, is the speed.
You walk way too slow, so you have to either double-tap on the D-pad, or use the analog stick, but then you're always running and I might not want to do a running attack!
So how do all of the stat upgrade items work? In level 3 I bought T-Shirt and a Hat and it upped my stats, but can I just keep buying them over and over again if I have the money to keep upping my stats again and again?

Yep.
And if you get the money to pay off Scott's late fees at the video store you can buy really really cheap upgrade items.
Anyone who wants the game to retain some form of difficulty stay away from Wallace's shop. 2 Bionic Arms apparently max your strength and allow you to one and two shot bosses. Although I'm not sad about max speed so I can actually you know... move about.
Stat boosts are identical to River City Ransom, which if you've never played means yes, they are permanent once purchased. I wouldn't be surprised if for added difficulty, a boss or something in the game caused you to DROP stats, but barring that, once you've shelled out enough cash for maximum upgrades, you've only got to buy snacks and the occasional meal to keep you going.
Enemy health can be determined by watching their actions. Once you see the speech bubble above their heads with !_! or -_-, they're about 50% dead. If you knock one down and he gets up breathing and panting, he's about 75-99% dead. They're dead once you see KPOW! appear next to them.

I definitely saw one in Wallace's shop.
I'm currently pretty bad at this game.

(Well, in 4 minutes anyway)
This game is pure old school bliss. Only complaints: kind of slow paced on the combat, and no life bars! Come on, I thought that was expected by now.

There seems to be. One popped up for me at some point (something like "A New Challenger"), but I didn't bother to check what it was for.
Negascott just annihilated me
should I go to the shopping district or something?

Yes. You can buy books for defense or strength for $20 or so. Stat boosts are great!
I don't have the money to get this.

Sony shelled out the cash for it to be a PSN timed exclusive
but yeah we don't know

And Twitch
Scott Pilgrim couldn't be part of Summer of Arcade because:
1) It's $10, not $15
2) It's not 360-exclusive at the moment
No way in hell Sony would shell out cash to keep a game exclusive for a mere two weeks, a game that's probably not going to sell that well anyways.
edit: Well I guess it'd depend on how much they make off PSN sales.

Are the stat boosts permanent, or do they disappear after a while?
