Are secondary markets on the Internet the only place you can find a Nintendo WiFi USB connector?
WEP encryption sucks, so my roommate decided to ditch it. I've done most of the trading I am interested in (Darkrai, Celebi and Rotom are the last of the notables), but being able to battle and so on would be nice

I don't know why I'm asking, since I never battled online, but would there be any interest in a tournament to celebrate the release of B&W in september?
So after revisiting the Frontier heavily for the first time since Platinum, I think the Battle Castle is definitely shaping up to be my favorite facility. It seems to give you enough options to handle everything without forcing you to resort to AI exploits like the Tower does. Being able to lower the level of OHKO users--and thus literally rendering their OHKO moves useless (they never work on a higher-level target)--is the greatest "fuck you" that you can give to the CPU trainers, imo.
631 | Swampert | Modest | Expert Belt | Muddy Water | Earth Power | Ice Beam | Counter | HP/SpA
868 | Hippowdon | Adamant | Quick Claw | Earthquake | Stone Edge | Crunch | Thunder Fang | HP/Atk
752 | Arcanine | Modest | White Herb | Overheat | SolarBeam | Dragon Pulse | Sunny Day | SpA/Spe
Heatran is in play with full health. Blissey is fainted and Latios has 17HP remaining. Opponent's Swampert is fainted and its Hippowdon is in play, Toxic poisoned, with about 5% or less of its HP. Sandstorm is up. I don't know the CPU's 3rd Pokemon yet.
I decide to AncientPower since it's a guaranteed KO and has a stat boost chance. Instead I get owned by a Quick Claw Earthquake. Latios can't deal with Arcanine, and probably wouldn't have been able to survive the sandstorm anyway.
Probably could have won if I had switched out Heatran for Latios, since the latter was useless at that point anyway and could have given me the turn I needed for the poison KO.
There's really no way you could have predicted that Quick Claw, though, that's total luck.
I mean, did you know the hippo had a Quick Claw? If so I guess you should have switched out just in case. But even then, it's so incredibly haxy that I wouldn't blame you for trying your luck with Ancient Power.
edit: Then again, the AI ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS gets the hax it needs when it needs it, so I guess it is a boneheaded move to stay in when there's even the slightest chance of the AI cheesing a KO.
Nah, I already knew. Blissey was in for several turns since it already had max evasion when Hippowdon came in, so I saw the animation at least once. Even if I hadn't known at that point, it usually doesn't take too long to narrow down the possibilities if you use the proper information:
Then again, the AI ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS gets the hax it needs when it needs it
Is this sarcasm or not? I know for a fact that this isn't true but I see people saying this sort of stuff in earnest every once in a while.
I was being slightly hyberbolic, and I'm sure there is an element of revisionist memory (i.e. you only remember the times the computer pulls off the hax, and never the times that it doesn't).
But I'm fairly certain that the AI cheats some probabilities. OHKOs are only supposed to hit 30% of the time, and that definitely does not seem to be the case when the AI uses it in the Battle Tower. I'd say that when the computer uses it, it actually hits closer to 70 or 75% of the time.
And then there is the just plain ridiculous shit. Like when you use Togekiss's Air Slash, it misses, and the opposing Pokemon uses Ancient Power and gets the super-stat boost, and then the next turn your Togekiss's Air Slash misses again, and your opponent gets the Ancient Power stat boost again (and KOs your Togekiss), and then uses a OHKO move to instantly knock out your switch in. Seriously, there's like .00001% of that sequence of events going down, and it happens all the damn time.

The DSi and DSi XL should work with WPA. You only have to worry about WEP if you're using a DSLite or older. If you still need to use the USB connector, I suppose I could hook you up. PM me.

I ask cuz I just saw a CM/Trick Jirachi @ Toxic Orb used to cripple Blissey/Celebi/etc., and it sounded like a pretty nifty deal

When it comes down to it I pretty much threw away a guaranteed win no matter how you slice it. This was my best Factory run to date too.

That's about the same as any random freeze or burn. More likely than a crit.

They work for the internet browser, but older games use the older wifi setup from the DS lite era.
I just disabled security entirely. I live in a dead end, quiet, non-threatening drive in southern Maine, I think I'll be fine.

Why couldn't the anime just follow the manga format?
