If it works for you go for it. I'm sure I've made some dumb moves but I'm liking the way my guy is set up so far. Hell when I get new powers at this point I'm like "hmm I don't really need anything new..."

that's when you start picking up utility powers and clicks and stuff

i'm of the opinion that nobody in this game needs more than like, four attacks

with no cooldowns and shit, you will very rarely find yourself needing to have an "attack cycle" or something

Yeah I got that jeep, but character wise it just wasn't a fit for me, the hits just lack a certain oomph.

One of the devs on the forum said they were going to look into the complaint that the shotgun sound didn't sound... oomphy enough lol.

Even something like the old shotgun from Doom would be better than what they have now.

Yeah as a dual blade user, I have my energy grabber, my normal aoe, an aoe trip, my heal, ranged lunge so I can close the distance and last night I picked up a single target damager for when I'm fighting one guy.

Probably grab an innate for when I roll in brawler since lightning reflexes doesn't look to work in that mode.

Hey now pony, some attacks DO have cooldowns. Like heatwave.

I will admit that the whole "attack cycle" thing from CoX still taints me a bit

Also I think it was you that was all "who the fuck needs a defensive passive if you just own enough face"

because if that was you I agree, which is my point about pyre

Fire Form +Avenger +Pyre= everything dead

anyone left over burns in the lingering AOE and any strong enemies get heat wave'd

once i get my next power and take a celestial heal I WILL be unstoppable

I am thinking of taking rebuke because the advantage sounds cool, and i like its animation more than conduit

Except Rebuke is a tier 0 blast and like all tier 0 blasts it's stinky.

    But whatever makes you happy.

You need Fireball with Unstable Accelerate and Flashfires though. You can use Pyre instead of Conflagration if you want, but the addition of UA and Flashfires will allow you to dominate even the tough foes with your normal attack instead of just wiping out henchmen and leaving you to fight villains.

yeah but jeep, I would just use it for quick heals and to pick off people i don't want to waste heat wave on

but i don't understand the advantage

what counts as a "weaker enemy" that gets stunned by it?

Ah, I've been having fun with the Character Creator, but with only 2 slots in the trial, it's hard to get a feel for how things work in-game...think I'll swing by Best Buy on the way home with a 10% coupon...

Steam version comes with achievements, and you don't get a DVD (takes up space!). Plus you just download the latest version, with the DVD you're gonna have to patch as well.

I dunno, I've progressed past purchasing PC games on dvd - I always end up losing them anyway, Steam is 400% better

Henchmen probably. Maybe villains. Neither is especially worthwhile. If your hold doesn't effect MV or multiple targets, it's garbage. Why would you want to single target hold a henchmen?

Jeep- the advantage stuns people around your primary target

even if that target is you

but it just says "weaker enemies"

I'm going to try and do that FPS view thing arch, one of my biggest issues in big meeles is targeting and as an aoe blade dude this should really help.

Hmm...$19.99 with 10% off at Best Buy, plus 6% tax...or $19.99 straight up through Steam (note that I dl'ed the trial through Steam). This may be a case where the money savings (as slight as they are) may not be the deciding factor...

It's henchmen then, since it's a tier 0 multi-target. You'll have to test it out in the power house and see how viable it is.

The power house is your friend. The little danger room is so handy when you want to see something but can't be bothered to PTS it.

Yeah, it really really shines in melee

there are some problems as a ranged dude (and throwing things at people is a bit annoying as well, the auto target doesn't count them so you have to tab-target) but it is pretty fun once you get it

try playing around with the settings a bit as well

On the flip side, you will always have to patch the DVD as well, and Steam can update the install files.

100 Day Vet reward had some nice shit in it.

Unstoppable nerf is very noticable, but with Con Superstat I can still Killdozer through any normal fight, it just means there is a pause before plowing into the next group.

Ran the entirety of the Serpent Lantern missions today with a couple random people. That series of missions is fucking long. Made me forget to pay my water/sewage/trash bill today before the office closed after 5pm. It felt more like a Task Force from CoH/V. The last fight was rather anti-climactic. The spirit serpent wasn't a challenge at all and we were running on hard difficulty.
