    alright good luck with that

I've been to several places with a reservations only policy. None of them seemed to be hurting for business.

No one under 25, no exceptions. No parties larger than 6. No substitutions. No special orders. No walk-ins.

Why no under 25s? Is it to do with drinking laws?

There was a point during college where the lease on our apartment expired and we couldn't move into our new apartment because it was delayed by renovations where my buddy and I lived out of his van and my Jeep for a month. Luckily, it was a summer semester and we basically just camped for a month outside of town.

Actually, there are quite a few customers that would appreciate an establishment with these kinds of rules which some of the posts in here reflect if you're paying attention.

It's only gay scoutmasters that are refused and it's understandable considering the Boy Scouts isn't just for children but teenagers as well. I wouldn't put you in charge of a high-school aged girl scout troop.

Well yeah its not hes saying there will be NO customers but in the long term your food better be awesome. Running a restaurant is expensive and for as many people as would really like something like this you are going to be turning away a ton of people (including walk-ins).

Not really. Considering all our worldly possessions at the time were locked up in two different vehicles, we were always paranoid about them broken into when we had them parked anywhere. Considering we were both in class (including labs) for close to 40 hours a week, it made it a really nervewracking time. Weekends and evenings were fun, though.

Still, I wouldn't really recommend it. Also, internet was a problem. We would basically cruise around on campus until we could find somewhere where could get a decent connection to the campus wireless network.

Teaching a class =/= spending nights with them in the woods but that was more of a personal jab at Hunter than anything else. Not saying the BSA is right but that their policy is understandable.

Just to quote the abstract of a well-cited Wikipedia article:
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), one of the largest private youth organizations in the United States, has policies which prohibit atheists and agnostics from membership in its Scouting program, and prohibit "avowed" homosexuals from leadership roles in its Scouting program as directly violating its fundamental principles and tenets. BSA has denied or revoked membership status or leadership positions of youths and adults for violation of these foundational principles.

It's not just scoutmasters, it's any leadership role, including a role in which an older scout would advise younger scouts

Yea, I could imagine. I bet there are some great places like this that serve Italian.

I'm in a weird age group now where half of my friends are stuck in early 20s mode or they're a bit older, married and/or have children so going out a place like this would be a great experience if everyone could get their shit in order.

As it stands, we're basically restricted to backyard BBQs and having people over to our houses for dinner.

Although, I found a neat vegan Indonesian place last week that I'm going to try and get some more people to go to.

Okay, I do understand that the two are not equatable, but saying to any stranger, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, that you don't think they can control themselves from sexually approaching an adolescent doesn't sit well with me.

But yes, I can understand the logic that would inspire the policy.
