    post fake-real edit: well, that and they actually make good games now and then.

    It's also pretty bad that I haven't owned a nintendo since the 64 and a 10 second clip od zelda would still steal the show, I like em, just don't buy em guess I'm crazy.

    Did that battle tag game remind anyone else of Bulletball? If you don't know what Bulletball is, please youtube it (I can't 'cause I'm at work).
    Ubisoft is just a company of employed Bulletball guys.
    First thing I thought of was "some kid is going to get shot by a cop thanks to this".

    I'll probably get it because I like using Wii style controls for shooters, but those never really happened on the Wii (you can only play Metroid so many times).

    The demo for Kinect was kinda boring, honestly. If I had money and the right game came along, I'd definitely get it though, assuming I could make the space necessary.

    There are only five things I genuinely would like to know from this E3:

    - How the new Zelda will look like;
    - Whether there'll be a new Pokémon type or not;
    - If they'll announce a new Advance Wars;
    - When they're going to release Golden Sun DS;
    - What the last Diablo 3 class is.

    You likely wont find that out till BlizzCon

    Star Fox? Anyone? Bueller?

    I reckon it's an outside chance for a 3DS launch title.

    I'd really, really like to find out that Treasure were given the role of developing it after doing a stellar job with sin and punishment 2, but I just don't think nintendo will do that :/

    A proper Wii entry (no Adventure crap) would be spectacular. I don't see Treasure being behind it either, but on the slim chance that they are...day one.

    I'm expecting to at least see a trailer for S&P2, if only to build up some hype. The hype train seems to be running awfully late for the game, if at all. Also wouldn't be surprised to see something about Other M. Zelda's basically guaranteed at this point. Pikmin 3 would be a welcome surprise, as would the rumored Retro developed DK title. Now that I think about it, there are plenty of first party franchises that Nintendo could bust out for Wii that we haven't seen yet. Kirby, F-Zero, the long rumored Kid Icarus, Star Fox. Nintendo could win this whole event by displaying an Earthbound Wii graphic.

    Ugh, better stop. I'm letting myself get too excited.

    EDIT: The Goldeneye Wii trailer will probably be played as well. It might even end up being the big finale game reveal.

    It's not that there was lots of casual stuff so much as it was overwhelmingly casual, like 70-80% if you include the sports stuff, all of it in this gigantic single rollercoaster drop that splatters you across the bottom of the barrel by the show's end. They could've at least broken it up a bit with some more conventional stuff halway through.

    In all seriousness, calling Kinect's movement control "waggle" is disingenuous. Waggling around is a very precise thing. You might want to look that up.

    Calling it Wii HD, eh, fair enough I suppose. The Wii formula was proven to work and everyone wants in on it. It's business as usual. I was on board with being offended by it, but I'm over it now.

    You're gonna have to elaborate on Ubi's "Fake exorcise." I mean, it's the same kind of exorcise stuff you'd see from infomercials yeah. But it's a thing you do. For real. The Star Wars game does look bad, I'll agree with you on that one (except for the pre-rendered part; MS isn't the only company that does it and you came across as accusing them of being the only one who does).

    And buying off the press, yeah. Activision did it with their party last night too. Have faith that the press will remain stalwart, I guess.

    It wasn't just the whole Kinect thing though. Okay, my idea was that the Cirque thing would be the Kinect thing and this conference would be normal as usual, so maybe I was expecting too much.

    The rest of the conference, save for the ending certainly wasn't an indicator of quality with presentation of already announced games and most especially Microsoft pulling the EXACT SAME SHIT Sony did with Agent last year with their Crytek game, being announce something just for the sake of announcing something.

    Also, the whole ESPN thing.

    This is what I was thinking. Nintendo usually shows us casual done right, in an attractive style with something new brought to the table. It's not incongruous to think that someone might despise Kinect and be ok with whatever Nintendo shows.

    The only thing I was "offended" by with the Microsoft conference is they literally had no games I was interested in at it.

    I mean, I realize I'm an aberration in that I'm a 360-only owner who can't stand Halo, Gears or CoD, but there was literally nothing for me there, and that was annoying.

    I can't stand the idea of not being able to play a game that looks good. It's why I own so many game systems. All they have to do is show me a game that I want to play and I will buy it.

    Sony will have some Move stuff but we already know plenty of stuff that'll be there that isn't. Like I said in the last thread, they should at least have trailers for all the games they've announced over the last few months (KZ3, Infamous 2, GoW: GoS, LBP2, Motorstorm 3 and SOCOM 4), EA confirmed at their conference that Dead Space 2 is getting demonstrated there (which indicates it supports Move), they should be unveiling new PS2 Collections and Kevin Butler should make an appearance. Sounds awesome.

    And while Nintendo will probably have some casual stuff as well (which isn't exactly a new thing for a Nintendo conference anyway), we know that their main focus will be on the 3DS and Zelda. Metroid should be making an appearance, as well as Pokemon Black/White and Goldeneye Wii. Sounds pretty great so far.

    Besides, Microsoft's conference didn't suck because they focused on the casual audience, it sucked because there really wasn't much there.

    Edit: I think I should point out that I thought EA's conference was better than Microsoft and Ubisoft's combined.

    The thing that a whole bunch of us are worried about with Kinect is that it doesn't seem like you really can do much with it. Racing sounds nice, but how do you accelerate, apply brakes, shift gears, honk the horn outside of oodles of vocal commands which apparently weren't implimented in the demos we saw? How many different precise movements can the game recognise in order to activate certain things, some more abstract than others? At least with the remote you've got a few buttons to work with, but here you've got jack squat.

    TRULY, what was I THINKING?

    Also, I'm right on board with the whole shenanigans that happened with the game moving faster than the person playing. I saw the Star Wars gif from a couple nights ago and someone posted a gif of the car thing in another thread just a bit ago.

    The video at the bottom of the last page is pretty heinous.

    I can't watch it in a timely manner. ;_;

    I think people who are repulsed by the MS conference because it was super casual friendly are going to be disappointed by Nintendo and Sony.

    You guys are going to have to accept that you're not the only ones who play video games anymore. Not the only people who look forward to new things. I've gotten over it, myself.

    I don't think it was all the casual crap. Just the fact that all the casual crap they did show was basically direct copies of stuff we've already seen.

    That's fair enough. The only thing I can offer up as a defense is that having to hold nothing and just use your hands in the air is a step up in technology compared to having a remote in your hand. It's not a super strong defense, I'm just saying it's there.

    Is it, though? A racing game where you don't hold a wheel? A river rafting game where you don't have a paddle?

    Just food for thought.

    Uhhh, they already sold me on a kinect. Just saying I hope we can get some games that aren't just party/sports/spend 10 minutes messing around games.

    It wasn't just the whole Kinect thing though. Okay, my idea was that the Cirque thing would be the Kinect thing and this conference would be normal as usual, so maybe I was expecting too much.
    The Cirque thing was not part of the goddamn conference. It's a stupid commercial they wanted to waste millions of dollars on. :P

    Also, the whole ESPN thing.

    The ESPN presentation was cheesy, but the partnership is something I appreciate because I actually like sports. I understand a lot of nerds don't like it. But be thankful the partnership is coming at no additional cost to the service. I would understand if it did cost extra, yeah, there's room to be offended by it or whatever. But it's free. And there for you to use or not use.

    Sure maybe it is interesting to sports loving people, but it basically amount to watching TV on your Xbox. Didn't help that during the whole thing I was going "GUYS WHAY ABOUT HOCKEY" but guess this wasn't meant for us canadians. :P
