I don't think that I'm the right audience for this game. I started laughing at breakdance and then I felt a bit sick by the end. And I felt bad at myself for laughing.
    Hmmm.

I thought of the potential for comboing it, or even other skillshots for the Drillgun.

I wonder what they called the unique rear entry or headshot skillshots for it?

I don't handle gore well. I think I have played prototype more than I have played any game in my entire life and I still feel sick when I consume a person and they start screaming and ew and urgh.
So I stick to zombies. They're guilt free snacking.

Still I'm going to try this game and see if its gonna get to me. It only lasts for a split second and then I forget about it. It's only when it's a lot of seconds in a row that I start you know. Feeling bad.

Charged Screamer shots are the greatest thing. I love launching dudes into their friends and setting them all on fire.

Also, the green dudes don't have to be still alive for you to shoot them in the head and gain "Toxic Love" status. So if you screw up your fancy kill and don't get a headshot, you can shoot the corpse in the head.

Morninglord, you make me second guess my sanity. I am going to do things with this game. In-game. In this game.

When I was playing the most recent Wolfenstein, which allowed you to pick-up items laying around like sledgehammers and axes, I would break into a gleeful smile, turn on my bullet shield and thwack my way through levels. Granted, the bad guys were nazis. Still, you could open people's necks with a stab of your bayonet in Wolfenstein. I was mortified when I had to drop my pickax to climb a ladder.

I am just going to do such horrible things to these cannibal mutant bastards in Bulletstorm.

This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a space pirate who must escape a planet populated by mutant cannibals. Players use futuristic machine guns, shotguns, magnum revolvers, assault rifles, and chain guns to perform over-the-top kills that dismember and decapitate foes. Injured enemies emit large sprays of blood that stain the ground and surrounding walls. Specialty kills (i.e., Skillshots) represent the most intense instances of violence: enemies can be dismembered with explosives; impaled on spikes; and drilled into walls, resulting in body parts breaking into pieces. During the course of the game, players can consume alcohol and kill enemies in order to receive an Intoxicated Skillshot; the screen turns blurry during these sequences. The dialogue contains numerous jokes and comments that reference sexual acts, venereal diseases, and having sex with one's mother (e.g., "Guess I know where the ol' gal got that limp."). The names of some Skillshots are infused with sexual innuendo (e.g., Gag Reflex, Rear Entry, Drilldo, Mile High Club); one Skillshot (i.e., Fire in the Hole) allows players to shoot at enemies' exposed buttocks. Language such as "f**k," "sh*t," "p*ssy," and "c*ck" can be heard in dialogue.

Any game that national news channels attempt to smear almost always turns into a Day 1 purchase for me, just to spite them.

I L-O-V-E how Dead Space 2 has gore and dismemberment galore, yet EA had to run their own ad campaign "against" the game telling you "You mom hates this game".

All Bulletstorm had to do is throw in some innuendos and all the sudden it gets free pub as a gateway to rape.

See ya'll online Day 1. That's, of course, if were all not out raping. Hide yo' kids.

If they do, it will be of the news story airing in the first strip, then Gabe and Tycho in the next panel just staring at the television, saying nothing. And then the next panel they will look at the reader and say, "So not getting into this bullshit again."

Which will piss off the people who complained about the "sodomy without consent" comic and neither Mike or Jerry will understand why. Again. And then this whole cycle of bullshit will just restart itself.

Rock Paper Shotgun ratchets up the WANT factor for me.
In Bulletstorm’s opening ten minutes it smoothly provides this sequence that would serve as most games’ finale, and it’s only then that the game starts to get mad. In the first four hours that I played you can look forward to everything from a remote control dinosaur, to the cramming of two people into a tiny one-man helicopter, to learning about the ludicrous multiplier your skillshots get if your character’s drunk.

But there’s more going on here than Captain Swearword’s Big Fuckin’ Adventure. Bulletstorm’s planet is the single most beautiful location a game’s taken me to since Bioshock dragged me down to Rapture,
I think 'Captain Swearword's Big Fuckin' Adventure' is a great thread-title candidate, BTW.

The rest of the write up broke exactly what I've been feeling and saying about the game.

"I’ll just close by saying that prior to my hands-on, I had Bulletstorm down as either a dumb smart game, or a smart dumb game. Since then, I’ve changed my mind. A game which takes its irreverence this seriously, expecting you to co-ordinate your Double Entries and Gang Bangs with military precision? Do you know, I think Bulletstorm might be the smartest most dumbest game the world has ever seen."

I thought that, especially through the first Gears. The second Gears had some big 'not-taking-this-seriously' moments, though, like the exit from the mega-worm and Anya's reaction to the Brumak-riding.
