I wasn't actually interested in this until I saw the trailer at the end after having played The Duty Calls. Might wind up picking this up, but I have to know: is it true you can't jump?
I certainly have no authoritative knowledge but it seems pretty unlikely that they wouldn't use their primary gameplay gimmick in the core campaign. That would be rather stupid.

You can't jump but you don't really notice its missing.

I like that you can't jump, means there won't be any fucking jumping puzzles hopefully.
And I'm pretty sure scoring is in the main game as the demo tells you thats how you buy guns and upgrades and I don't think it just meant for echo mode.

It's not like they left it out by accident.
INT.PEOPLE CAN FLY OFFICES. SIMON is working at his desk. A clock can be seen to his side, showing 16:50
"Let's see.. shoot bullets? Right trigger. Iron sights? Left trigger. Man this is easy. Lassoo thing on left bumper, right bumper is charged shot, then we've got reload, change weapon, melee and sprint on X, Y, B and A! And just in time to beat the traffic home!"
SIMON stands up, takes his coat and walks over to the door
"I love my job"
SIMON exits
CLOSE ON desk, where a piece of paper with a list of commands sits. It is caught by a sudden breeze through an open window.
It flips over to reveal a single word: JUMP
That was excellent. Also it's not that I think it's a dumb decision, it's just that it's so alien to me: the last arena shooter I really played and enjoyed was UT2k4, and I mean jumping was like 99.8% of that game.

Oh, I agree that when a game in a genre doesn't have something that would be considered a staple, it can be pretty disorientating. Take Mirror's Edge, where people were attempting to rebind the controls so that 'A' was jump instead of right-bumper, even though the game was designed to be that way so you could both jump and use the right stick (very important features to the game). It confused me for the longest time, constantly hitting A to jump. Running around in Gears of War and realising that I had no jump button also threw me for a minute. That's perfectly fine and understandable. It's just when you get people actually complaining about it (which no-one here's doing, because we're all cool dudes) like with Bionic Commando Rearmed, that it gets silly.
So what exactly is echo mode for? I only had a brief run of the demo sadly.
Score-attack, basically.
It's designed as a way of playing selected chapters at varying difficulties with individual leaderboards. The main game just doesn't chunk up content as obviously.
Damn, missed the demo. I guess I'll just have to wait, like I already will be, until I have the money. Then at least some reviews will be out. Still gotta decide on 360 or PC, though. Depends on if some friends will actually buy it too, or not.

I played the living hell out of Timesplitters 2 on der OXbox. No jumping there either and I didn't miss it for a second. Now that I think about it a few other shooters don't feature jumping. Doom and Doom II. Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon (commandos don't jump). Those are pretty good games too.
edit: Holy hell!? 135 Skillshots? Yeah. Who needs jumping?
I'm with Gabe, and yes, I played the Crysis 2 demo. I'm sure I'd be more interested if I had a 2000 dollar PC. Every time I say I'm gonna get one karma puts me in a financial emergency. So I've decided to wait until I actually have a salary. Until then, I'm gonna be pulling and throwing bitches.

If there's not a Skill Shot involving the Drill Gun (I'm totally gonna be yelling "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM" and "My drill is a drill that will pierce the heavens!" whenever I use it) and a rectal breach, I will be disappointed.
What? More guns? Every day, this game gets more awesome. I honestly thought we'd be stuck with the four guns we'd seen (pistol, flail, machine gun, minigun), but then they bust out a God damned drill gun! I hope there are more! I hope PCF lives up to the Painkiller weapon-reputation and cranks up the "holy shit!" factor.
I'm surprised by the sniper rifle. I didn't expect such an item to actually see its way into this kind of game, I imagine its very situational. Reminds me of the Battle Out of Hell sniper-stake-thing, in that it'll probably just be used as a regular gun more than a sniper.
I can't do a day-one, but the moment I get enough pocket change, this is coming home with me.
Break dance had me laughing, the letter bomb one was hilarious as well. I believe there are a couple more guns that were shown in the movie at the end of the demo we haven't seen yet, plus the guns you do get are upgradeable.

they have shown more weapons than the demo ones- the cannonball launcher, and the 4-barrelled shotgun

Thanks for making me feel like an idiot, Nuzak. Real nice. :P
I completely forgot about those two weapons, and that cannonball launcher is up with the flail and drill gun on the "Fuck yeah!" side of things.
Not a bad list. 3 unconventional weapons (5 if you count foot/leash) and 5 conventional weapons (which each just happen to have a skin-melting alt. fire). Can the minigun actually be carried in your back pocket like other guns or is it a situational thing?
There's a tradition in FPS games that seems to have sunk away a little bit. Absurd BFG/"holy crap!" guns. I can't recall the last time I used a gun that wasn't just a stand in for something else (like how a crossbow is just a stand in for a sniper rifle). Painkiller had stake-launching-grenade-gun, Duke Nukem 3D had an expander/shrinker gun (I swear I even saw it in the latest DNF trailer), Serious Sam had a hand cannon, Blood had the voodoo doll, and Bulletstorm wants to one-up 'em all. It'd probably be interesting to list the history of BFG/"holy crap!" guns that weren't stand-ins for other generic guns, but almost entirely unique.
Why didn't I think of this before? Youtube has some superplays. I used this to get Chain Reaction for the first time. Also, I've been neglecting to hold down the whip button to knock everyone in the air. It just seemed...cheap. But this video shows it being used effectively.

I don't think that I'm the right audience for this game. I started laughing at breakdance and then I felt a bit sick by the end. And I felt bad at myself for laughing.

So, weapons seen so far:
Foot, leash, pistol, machine gun, four-barrel shotgun, flail-thing, cannonball launcher, drill gun (God bless PCF), sniper rifle, minigun.
