[Nintendo E3 Keynote 2010] - Sorry guys you can't logically discuss the 3DS here

Work with me folks, I'm still trying to piece together links and bullet points for people who missed it or just want basic info without the damn fanfare.
End of the Conference Megaton: The 3DS is far more awesome than people imagined it would be.
It has an added analog nub, a 3D camera in the front, and the top screen is wider and displays the new 3D video capability
Nintendo has partnered with Disney, Dreamworks, and other companies to bring MOVIES to it
Major developers are bringing their class A franchises to the 3DS for launch, like Capcom (Street Fighter 4), Konami (Metal Gear Solid), Square (Kingdom Hearts) and more
What Was Shown:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword; gameplay and trailer, cell shaded adult Link
Mario Sports Mix trailer (basketball, hockey, volleyball etc.)
Wii Party (similar to Mario Party)
Just Dance 2; trailer
Golden Sun Dark Sun (DS); trailer
Goldeneye remake; trailer
Disney's Epic Mickey
Kirby's Epic Yarn; trailer
Metroid Other M; trailer
Donkey Kong Returns; trailer
Kid Icarus (3DS); trailer, apparently looks nothing like the original, has voice acting?
What Went Unanswered:
There's no launch date for the 3DS!
There's no pricemark on the 3DS either!
What happened to that vitality sensor thing?
Why the hell do the audience and those streaming from Nintendo get to see more Zelda and 3DS?!
I am not at all worried about the controls. It seemed pretty clear it was a technical problem, and Nintendo has never disappointed in game control (if absolutely nothing else). The graphical style looks incredible. Cannot fucking wait. CANNOT WAIT.
No right analog stick might be a limiting factor, at least where last gen ports are concerned. How could you do Wind Waker on that thing, for example? No C buttons/stick!
(Not that it doesn't look great in general, just making discussion.)

If the games are there, I'm sure I'll break down and get it, but I really question whether playing video games with 3D effects is really going to be all that fun. I'm also not thrilled at the idea of big titles only being playable on teeny tiny portable screens.
New Zelda: Wait and see.
New Kirby: AWESOME.
DKC Returns: Was not expecting that. Good to see, though.
3DS in general and new Kid Icarus in particular: How much, and when?!?!
I think what would bring me around on the new Zelda is if it featured a lot of really vibrant "town" environments like Windfall Island in Wind Waker, or the starting town (forget what it was called) in Twilight Princess, or, you know ... like Majora's Mask. I don't think it's something that applies to everyone or even a majority of fans of Zelda games, but what I've really grown to enjoy in them more than the dungeons, or the minigames, or the overworld travel, is when you get a really cushy bunch of NPCs that you can actually fucking care about.
The multitude of small "side-quests" for Windfall in Wind Waker is my favorite part of the game every playthrough. I mean, it probably helps I always forget where at least one of the Killer Bees is hiding every time. That helps. But just generally pushing the environment and NPCs, I think, is what would sell me on what otherwise looks so far to be pretty generic but with controls that might ultimately make it very generic but very fun.

touchscreen functions perfectly well as an analog stick... also, the gyros in it, AND the other analog...
It has more than enough axises to handle any kind of 3d movement.
Shit, NOVA on the iPhone is a perfectly serviceable FPS on an iPhone, which only has the touchscreen and the gyros to work with. The 3DS will be fine.

What? No. It doesn't. Did you play Super Mario 64 DS? And I admit I haven't played NOVA on the iPhone, but I'm willing to bet it controls like ass.
After years and years of people saying Nintendo was going to drop the bomb or announce some big games if not the whole damn term of "megaton" a few years back Nintendo finally fully delivered.
I really doubt any of us ever expected to see that or even remotely a fraction of the support or games announced.

We saw a 5 minute demo and a 30 second trailer. The game is coming out next year. Maybe, MAYBE, we haven't seen everything there is to see.
But no, you're probably right about it being generic and everything, because we've seen it all.

Also Kid Icarus and Metroid, I guess.
3DS was great.
Donkey fucking Kong.
Despite technical difficulties, Zelda looks entertaining, but I am holding my breath a bit.

Remember when the DS launched and people were talking about Diablo, Starcraft and Quake being ported...ah how they missed an opportunity.
Not particularly interested in a remake of DS already, but a sequel, now...
I lived to see the next PilotWings game
... or will I ...

More like JRPG/PSX games.
GBA is the one with all the SNES games.
