I was pretty impressed when he pulled Tim Schafer, although he has to continue the tradition of putting dudes who are cool with acting/being awesome in front of an audience on stage
I will admit the only time i have ever watched Jimmy Fallon's show is through clips of video game industry people being on his show. But i will say, its an awesome thing how he does his best to promote gaming.
Oh. Also... the 3ds couldnt come any sooner. My DSlite just broke.
The moment preordering becomes available I'm selling my Lite. I have games for it and I love, it's just not my priority right now.
Think Gaz when she throws her Game Slave in the trash and evil spirits come out. Now I have to watch my Invader Zim DVDs again.
I hate how that show was cancelled. Anyway, hopefully they will ditch the damned friend codes. You don't have to be kid friendly Nintendo, Sony and (Dear God: Live kids!) Microsoft have already shown that. The party system on 360 should be enough. If you don't want to talk with an asshole, go to a party with your friends, don't give us a complex system of numbers that don't allow us to meet anyone on the internet. Also I hope they strengthen their online capabilities. I hope we can now expect 4 vs 4 on games. I just really hope they bring back Spies vs Mercs on Chaos Theory.
I think most people stopped caring about friend codes when they realized that basically every game lets you join up in random games anyway, and without any sort of chatting it's not like you form enough of a relationship to want to add those randoms as friends.
It only matters for stuff like Animal Crossing where you can't random. Outside of that, people just add whoever they need - someone on the forum says "hey I'll play you," you add each other. No trouble.
It's just annoying needing a new code for every game. Can't there be a friend code attached to the actual DS instead of each game?
It has been repeated often, but that is because it is the right idea. I don't see many negative side-effects to this. Heck, the friend codes for the games are tied to your DS already, if I am not mistaken (thats why you do the WiFi settings transfer thing when you get a new DS).
I can't speak for anyone else, but the main reason I stopped constantly whining about friend codes is that I just plain gave up playing DS games online. Hearing rumors of a robust online system on the 3DS warms me greatly, but given any sentence with the words "Nintendo" and "online" close to each other, I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't know that online play is really a big of a deal to me when it comes to a handheld, though. With a console, where I'm by definition always within range of my home Internet connection, I love having a seamless online/offline environment, but with handhelds I'm on the move so much (and typically popping in and out of sleep mode a lot) that I'm not sure I'd play online a lot.
3DS may, indeed, be out this year. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Realistically they only have about a two month span to announce a date if it is this year. Retail will be placing their christmas seaons orders late august early september.

No, that's pretty much why I quit worrying about friend codes as well.

So I saw some article on Slashdot about 3D displays giving kids lazy-eye.
I smell a massive class-action lawsuit some day for Nintendo and their 3DS.
Well technically, if Hal was looking at it from more than one of his eyes, he would not be looking at it directly at the same angle, hence the blur-O-vision.
Oh and also, when I was playing Picross3D last night I found myself wishing for it to pop out of the screen. A puzzle game like this with simple geometric shapes would be so fucking rad in 3D.

How would that work? In Picross3D, you break/paint bricks and operate the little view sliders directly with the stylus. Sure, it would be cool to see it in 3D, but you wouldn't be able to operate it with the stylus if it were in 3D. Both because the touch screen in the 3DS doesn't feature 3D and also because even if it were possible, it would have some kind weird disconnect between what you were touching on screen and the 3D image. The only way to make it work on the 3DS would be to have the puzzle on the 3D capable top screen and operate the game using buttons/dpad/stick or to somehow operate the puzzle on the top screen from the lower touch screen. And none of those solutions sounds very good... The other alternative would be to have the puzzle on both screens. You would control it just like in the current DS version except there would be a 3D version of the puzzle on the top that you could observe at any time. That might be pretty cool although it would be somewhat redundant having the same "image" of the puzzle on two screens at once, one in 3D for viewing and one on the touch screen in 2D for operating.

Yeah, I seem to recall them telling us at last year's E3 that he literally kidnaps people.

Isn't miyamoto the leader of a ninja squad?
In all seriousness. They are probably very strict people in work life.
Not that it matters.
That's because the main attack button and the jump created a sort of kinda double jump and that position made it easier to pull off.
Fallon has had game previews like this before. He was probably acting like a doofus on purpose.
The fact that he had to most likely fight to get these men on his show is a testament to his nerd cred.

They're smaller than the current DS shoulder buttons.

Stop that or else there will be nothing left to look forward to in heaven!
Holy crap. Dont say Metroid like that without a fair warning.
My heart can't take it.
