Recommend me a new game

So I have some free time and I'm looking for a new game to play. I've been searching around for something rather particular, but haven't been able to find anything. Here are the specifics:

I have played and loved: 1) Arena in world of warcrafting (but not raiding)
2) DOTA
3) MTGO drafting (still play this, but it gets pricy to draft a lot)
4) Diablo II (played with friends)

So I'm looking for a multiplayer game, probably one with an RPG bent.

What I don't want:
1) Another MMO (can't stand the grind)
2) FPS

Bloodline Champions looks like it will be amazing, but it is sadly not out yet.

Suggest away, G&T!

You sure you want to completely ignore FPS? Borderlands is basically FPS Diablo II.

Torchlight might be up your alley, it's basically Diablo with a WoW-ish visual style and more modern sensibilities in general. The only reason not to buy it is that you probably won't ever touch it again after Diablo III comes out, but there's something to be said for a nice timekiller.

Edit: Ooops, yeah I just looked at the "what I like list," and F5'd "Torchlight", my bad. No multiplayer.

Fucking league of legends dude. Nice size PA gaming community, and it's just a ton of fun.

I was going to mention that one too, but he wants multiplayer.

If OP can skip his multi req, then yes Torchlight is made by the original Diablo game team, and is awesome.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Torchlight does look like a lot of fun, but isn't multiplayer.

I heard league of legends was bad. I guess I heard wrong? I'll check it out.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. ~ Terry Pratchett

Dawn of War 2 is an awesome RTS you might be interested in. The multiplayer plays like a cross between a standard RTS and an action RPG. You control a small number of squads over the course of a match. You upgrade these over time, and as they fight they gain XP and go up in level (up to level 4).

Your commander unit has a selection of wargear with which you can specialise him, and he can level up to level 10.

The gameplay is fast paced and all about using activated abilities at the right times and generally keeping good tactical control of the battles.

There's also a non-competitive multiplayer mode called Last Stand, which basically sees your commander and two others facing off against 20 waves of Xeno's and trying to survive. Levelling is actually persistent here, and you gain access to more wargear as you level up.

The singleplayer is much more RPG based. Your squads level up over the course of missions and you spend points specialising them along melee, ranged etc. There are also wargear drops over the course of missions that you use to equip and upgrade your squads, eventually culminating in stuff like Terminator Armour. The singleplayer can be played coop, and it's pretty awesome when you do (as long as you put up the difficulty for it).

The singleplayer in DoW2 is decent, but the addon pack Chaos rising had a much better SP campaign (which you can carry your squads into from the first campaign).

All in all it's pretty awesome if you're willing to get into an online RTS.
