What comes in the Beatles Special Edition box? Walmart has it for pretty cheap and I need to replace my drum set and if I got the other cool stuff in there I'd be ok with it

The problem with Nickelback is not so much that they suck (which they do) but that their stuff is *so* overplayed. Their songs would be tolerable if you could go 5 minutes without hearing one on the radio or TV or something.
Yeah, I don't watch wrestling a whole lot and if only heard "Burn it Down" maybe twice in the past 8 months. That and I think it's a pretty heavy tune with a decent guitar riff.

Drums
Mic
Mic Stand
Hofner bass fake plastic instrument
TB:RB disc
some pictures
edit: forgot to mention, the drums are ringo skinned -- possibly with a slightly sturdier foot pedal than stock RB2; i thought it was improved when I played it at PAX, but never confirmed/denied for sure
The way I'm figuring is, the place that has the cheapest RB2 special edition is Gamestop which charges 20$ for shipping making the total about 99$. If I got that I'd be cool with the other in the Beatles pack, its 99$ at Wallyworld and has free shipping.
The drum pack is 50$, so maybe I'd just get that, I dunno anymore, I'm sick of replacing these things. (It'd be pedal #10 or so and drumset 6 or 7. (1 RB2 kit, 5 RB1 kits)
Yeah I know what it is, but it just stands out compared to how the rest of the grammar on that sentence is presented.
Meh.
So yeah... Ten pages into the other thread and it's still pretty much the same 'Nickelback sucks! Recent DLC sucks!' comments. Some more of the 'I hate Nickelback, but I'll get song X' variety. So I'll just give you guys these 'standout' examples.
Nickelback sucks. Fact.
"Never Again" is a possible buy if the chart ain't boring like "Photograph" and "Rock Star" will be.
It's also not *** to listen to.
Next time, use the Preview Post function. Read your intended post. Walk away for fifteen minutes. Then read it again. Then submit it if you're absolutely certain you want to say these not-contradictory-in-any-way statements.
I think the second poster in this exchange is actually serious.
I *would* predict Kid Rock for next week's DLC, but he's supposedly exclusive to Power Gig.
If they did, I wouldn't mind the song he did with Nickelback called "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)". Would be a great weekend party song
Yeah... A couple of people caught that...
And now for some righteous indignation.
People hate Nickelback because they've been told to. It's the "cool" thing atm. Just like it was cool to hate Bon Jovi back in the day despite the fact that everyone was buying their albums.
It's sorta like how people think Bob Dylan and The Greatful Dead are great bands 'cause they've been told to. The best thing about Bob Dylan is when someone else sings his songs and if you have to be high to enjoy their music (GD) then it's probably not that good.
I'll be getting them all this week
Yes. All hate is because people are sheep. All hate.
So, so disappointing. It'll probably get 'better' when HMX announces a new RB3 feature or how the RB2 export/import will work.
The biggest reason I am wanting to be able to do laundry at my place is not the inconvenience of the drive or the money spent in quarters, but the Nickelback CD one of the laundromat employees plays.
GOD IT IS LIKE THE SAME FUCKING SONG FOR OVER AN HOUR.

Isn't that the Beatles Limited Edition? I thought the Special edition was the B:RB with the RB1 instruments?
I have not posted on this site for a very long time. However, I do still play Rock Band 2 and occassionally pick up some DLC if it suits me. I have well over 500 songs, so I'm not a fanatic with everything but I'm not some troll who never buys DLC and complains about everything.
THIS IS REDICULOUS. I checked DLC last week and scratched my head. A week after offering up the worst media created pop star in the history of the world, they follow that up with the pussiest bunch of flamewads on the planet. Freaking out of control. Whatever happened to bands on the edge of the main stream. When I looked at the playlist for RB I saw bands like Pixies and Radiohead and said wow thats a game I have to get.
Go ahead and start with all the "Don't buy it then" and "Nickleback rules you douche" comments, because I'm sure as hell not coming back here to defend my comments.
F Nickleback.
So... Not a fanatic? Check. Not some troll? Check. Absolutely hates the offered DLC, drops some flamebait, and admits they won't hang around for any responses? Checkcheckcheck.
Their most recent post was in April.
I know I said I was done posting here a ways back, but I still play the game and am EXTREMELY disappointed that there is still no more MM available as DLC. I mean if you come out with Smashmouth and Lady Gaga and we can't get a three pack of MM? Rediculous. Maybe I'll check to see if GH has delivered any MM DLC and then go buy a GH game if they have.
They had this to say about deep cuts from '80s albums.
First the good: Nice job with the Husker Du and RHCP making the 80's list.
Now the bad: You call this a deep cuts list and then offer several of the #1 singles off of albums. For example Blister in the Sun and Paradise City are not deep cuts (this is a relatively small gripe on my part). The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Pixies, and Jane's Addiction are all bands that came out with great music in the 80's and in my humble opinion, they should be represented in your list.
Well give me your "Deep Cuts" from them, and i will add them.
The Smiths: Bigmouth Strikes Again
Jane's Addiction: Been Caught Stealing
Echo and the Bunnymen: The Cutter
Pixies: Gigantic
The Jesus and Mary Chain: Darklands
The Violent Femmes: Country Death Song
I smell Hipster Douche... And Been Caught Stealing was a deep cut? According to Wiki 'The song was Jane's Addiction's biggest hit, spending 4 weeks at #1 on the U.S. modern rock chart.' and it's only maybe a technical '80s song since it was recorded in '89.
I see chinks in the armour.
Remember the week we got Steve Miller?
Still no SRV or Jane's Adddiction huh? I may pick up Steve Miller pack, but I'm not completely sold.
MMMP
That's some 'edge of the main stream' stuff right there!
Gigantic and Bigmouth Strikes Again are both pretty big songs too.
I was mainly struck dumb by the thought that Jane's Addiction's biggest hit is a 'deep cut'. How the fuck did that happen?
We've seen the movie High Fidelity, right? The scene where Jack Black is selling the dude on The Jesus and Mary Chain? That moment is playing in my head on repeat.
It's like it would be the worst thing in the world to like a band that three or more other people liked too. Some bands just get a 'grandfather clause' for being hip way before being 'main stream'.
No idea, but apparently "the end of June" is when we were going to start seeing all frets charted on Easy and Medium on official Harmonix DLC. Maybe we'll start seeing some Guitar Pro data early.
I just about did a spit-take when I saw the thread title. I immediately thought of what's goingon at the Rock Band forums.
I'm indifferent to Nickleback's music. Their early stuff is merely tolerable, though their more recent stuff I actually hate. That said, I hate Nickleback as a band. Chad Kroger is a huge douche and their music career consists of a lot of mediocrity early on and a disturbing focus on blow jobs, hookers, and sex in the latest stuff. Their brand of mediocrity also breeds other terrible bands like Theory of a Deadman.
However, I will say they have a following and it's not a terrible thing that they're finally in this game. I know some people who would probably like to play those songs...though there's no fucking way I'm buying them...
It could be worse. They could have put *SHUDDER* Puddle of Mudd in the game. *DOUBLE SHUDDER*

This is an interesting situation that I dont think we've seen before.
The Miley Cyrus 5 pack was SUPPOSED to be a 6pack. The missing song is "Party in the USA", apparently there was some last minute disagreement from somewhere and the decision was made to remove the song. The change was made too late to actually recreate the packs though. On the PS3 they just didn't release the pack at all, only the singles.
Now where it gets interesting is the fact that on the 360 the song is actually IN the pack, as in, the data for it is there...its ON the hard drive. but somehow it is "deactivated". People who have modded 360's however, are actually able to see and PLAY the "hidden" song.
Further proof that HMX hates the PS3! NEENERNEENER
Anyway, here are the recent list of songs for RBN officially available in-game since the last time. Colour coded for price convenience. (Example links included where available. ** means lefty flip.)
Is it wrong of me to think the Charmaine song is right up Vow's alley?
The mix on the SexTon songs seems a bit off, like too much treble. Sounds better in other videos.
The SOiL song sounds like The Cult. So if you're at all into that... I'm just glad I didn't have to link to the sample video with the official album art. YouTube: The font for enlightenment.
That Sexton song was in Playtest forever, and yeah, they got a lot of criticism for the mix, but I'm pretty sure it's a home recorded thing so I cut them some slack.
The drum chart is super hard though and not really the fun kind of hard. It's fast and has a lot of syncopation that's borderline simply off-beat. Pretty cool on guitar as I recall though.

I meant the mix of the video I linked to. There's a drums only chart that sounds much better.

Although wasn't RBN code titles RB : Nickleback or was that a joke?
But they just weren't smart enough to ask to be released with that feature, or what?

Well, at least you can rest easy knowing it ain't an on disk song for RB3.
I meant the mix of the video I linked to. There's a drums only chart that sounds much better.
I believe you. I wasn't trying to deny it.
All this might explain why PS3 didn't get a pack.
I actually remember to avoid deleting the OXM songs, even though they're only 80 points each to get back..
Oh man, I remember the conga line we had going for that thing so everyone could get the songs.
