I can't join a MW2 lobby with anything less than 125ms ping. This basically means that my games consist of very noticeable framerate lag or spontaneous disconnects due to hangups on attempted host changes. My success in game is significantly affected by this. My NAT type is Open, and multiple online speed tests indicate that my internet speed is in the 15-20mbps range. Also, average ping tests indicate around 20-30ms. So why the fuck can I only get in lagged up lobbies? I am using the 802.11g wireless adapter--outdated I know, but would it really cause this? Any ideas would be appreciated.
PS: My system network settings are set to Automatic, though I've opened all the relevant xbox and mw2 ports on my router-- though I am not using a static IP (manual), as I just said. When I try to use manual network settings, my NAT type becomes moderate, which is obviously undesireable. UPnP is also enabled.
