Wow. When even Pachter, who hadn't met a Sony orifice he wouldn't suck, isn't bullish on the Move, you know it's in trouble.

Meanwhile, it seems Mike and Jerry aren't fans of Kinect:

Interesting to see Pachter changing his stance on Move. He probably realised his hypothetical PS3+Move for $250 package required to beat the Wii is probably well over 5 years away.

A reminder of Pachter's thoughts from about a fortnight ago:
    Pachter wrote:
I think that nintendo is going to lose a big chunk of the wii market that exists today to the PS3 and move as soon as sony make a package of PS3 + move competitively priced to the wii. If sony ever gets the price of PS3 + move down to $249, I think the wii has a world of hurt, because sony can say 'look wii owners, if you want to upgrade to full HD, have a bluray player, get all sorts of cool content, and every game made by every publisher is going to be on this thing, you need to upgrade to a PS3 + move. I've always thought sony was going to do this, and I've always thought nintendo would counter by saying 'no, you don't need to change to PS3, we'll give you the same thing with Wii HD, and by the way, it's fully backward compatible with every game we've ever made'. That's pretty compelling, and all the publishers would just say, hey, since we're making games for PS3 and 360, we can just include the wii HD, since it's pretty much just a port. We're making games for natal and move anyway, why not make them for wii HD?

Christ, how long have these people been swearing up and down that the Wii HD would come out? The Wii's nearly 5 years old at this point people! The Wii HD isn't going to happen. The "Wii HD" will just be whatever their next console turns out to be with the next gen cycle.

You know, as much as they give traditional editorial cartoons shit a lot of their comics make zero sense without the paragraph or so of context given with it on the front page.

Do you remember this comic, perchance?

Similar concept, and Jerry is the only game commentator I can remember who really liked the Eye of Judgement. But the idea of a machine that hates its owner is just funny. And .jpegs are places for jokes. Real opinions are better expressed with text.

My point is that, sometimes, a funny comic is just a funny comic.

Yeah but sometimes they express their collective opinion through the comic. This year's E3 keynote comic had us in a big discussion about how Mike and Jerry hate sports and also hate people who like sports, and that they're silly geese for having that position. Like oh no, non-nerds enjoy video games too. Watch out.

So here's what's replacing the red ring of death:
RRoD may be gone by omission, but that doesn't mean your new Xbox 360 won't occasionally give you the evil eye. Case in point: this 250GB unit spotted over at NeoGAF, which has a red dot smack dab in the center of the power button. What message is it trying to convey?

Also, I'm crossposting this from the 3DS thread because Henroid and I were talking about viewing angles a few pages ago:

Somehow a site I've never heard of has given us the best show floor coverage of the 3DS.

    http://www.tested.com/tested-goes-hands-on-with-the-nintendo-3ds/47-75/

He shows the approximate angles that the 3DS loses focus at (he says about 15 degrees side to side), shows us the telescoping stylus, talks at length about a few of the demos, even shows us the length of the lines to see it. Really good coverage. I don't know why the big gaming sites didn't give us video like this.

If what he says is true about the viewing angle, the distance he moves in the video, there won't be much issue. Like I was saying earlier, all we had was a bunch of short text impressions without a lot of visible impressions. What they showed here is promising.

Yah Apparently I wouldn't even be able to use a 360 slim, because from what my brother was saying with his, it absolutely has to have like 6-8 inches of ventilation on both sides or it'll give you that warning. My Entertainment center is pretty crowded, and even with my 360 vertical it only has about 3-4 inches of space on it's right side between it and the side of the cabinet.
