I'm going to have to catch the earlier stuff when it's posted later. I managed to miss both TvC and BB. Watching Floe v Juicebox right now because I'm not big on SCIV.

Despite the small details he's mistaken about, DrDogg is right about Amy. She is easily top 3 in the game, but requires the least amount of work and is the hardest to play against.

    So custom 360 pads ftw.

So she's basically Blanka? (Though Blanka isn't top 3, he is definitely a character where I feel like the reward is way higher than the skill required for it)

She's the offence version of. But she's 100% 50/50s, has the best lows in the game, and you can learn everything you need to know about playing her in 20 minutes. The only things that you can improve on are character knowledge and just not sucking.

Although, unlike Blanka she has the luxury of having a tool or every possible situation. She can fight and win at any range, versus any character.

Ring outs are the best part. I never understand why 2d fighters don't like them. Especially the ones who play games with infinites. You usually have to work harder to set up a RO than an infinite.

The best way to describe the feeling that people get, and the reason that people don't like playing against high level Amy, is that it's rarely that Amy wins, just that you lose. The setups are all transparent and obvious, but there are so many of them that you cannot react and adapt to them all. You just get ground down mentally, and the mistakes compound until you give up.

I don't have a problem with ROs, I'm just surprised to see so many of them (I obviously don't watch a lot of SCIV).

Amy is very good for ROs, Ivy is good. They're bound to happen.

ROs are a part of the game just as everything else. Just another thing you have to learn to deal with.

That being said, Amy is a good RO character and No Face was getting scared too much. He was too afraid of the toe poke and he wasn't breaking too many throws at the end(which was strange since he was doing them in the beginning), that's why he kept eating mids.

He was doing good in the beginning but towards the end he kept freezing up and letting Amy get in close on him. Amy has good mixups but that's only at close range, you can't let yourself get faked out by her or she's going to just dance all over you.

I think it being his first chance to win a big tournament, his nerves got to him. It is understandable though.

Do you guys think players coaching other players during a match should be allowed?

It just doesn't seem like good form for a tournament. Every year at Evo, Daigo has to deal with Justin and his pack to the point where they're practically verbally assaulting him during the match. Not that it's ever helped Justin, but for the players who are mere mortals it doesn't seem cool.

You can't really stop people yelling or whatever during a match, but I don't think direct coaching (people sitting right next to you and such) should be allowed in a 1v1. For team matches I think Coaching is just fine from your teammate.

I think it being his first chance to win a big tournament, his nerves got to him. It is understandable though.

As I said, Amy's greatest strengths are that she breaks you down mentally, even at high level play. Nothing she does is complicated, but she can continually force you into situations where even the 50/50s don't play out evenly, and your best bet is to just roll over and wait for your next opportunity. You get punished every time you try to assert something on the match. And her throw game has the advantage of not having a real advantage, like Xianghua: there's no reason to prefer one throw over the other for damage or position, unless you want a specific RO, so you have to guess which one she's going to do in the open.

Her 2b+k, the toe poke, is fast enough that it is impossible to react to and safe enough that even if you anticipate it then you probably won't be able to react in time to punish. It gives a ground stun on normal hit, which sets up her oki. At that point she can 2b+k again, or 3b if you try to block that. If you try and block the 3b then you get hit by 2b+k and you're in the exact same situation. The best option is to just lie there and take the hit so you get pushed away and she can't reset it, which is VERY frustrating. And that's just one of her options, though it's the most annoying. You either get to a point where you don't want to do anything, or you just want to do something. Both end with you losing.

I haven't played SSF4, haven't played fighting games in quite some time actually. I just watched this match between Abel and Viper and Abel's throws seem overpowered, so much damage.

Viper: Combos and stuff, 5-6 connects in a row?
    Abel: Two throws.

    Equal health on both. :s

I loved the match though, really awesome.
