So in the tradition of the first three Mass Effect Facebook pages, I've made one for Mass Effect 2.

I didn't get to use that funny screenshot of Miranda making the weird face that's floating around the Internet though.

the OP has been updated to reflect the new awesome. :^:

So, anyone else feel really wierd in this game when they see a polite krogan?

Like the one who works for Mr. Thax. Or the one who does poetry.

    Just freaks me out somehow.

I think Bioware tried very hard to break the racial stereotype set in ME1 by Krogans

They're great. Like Grunt trying to be funny.

"Warriors like us, Shepard? Straight to the face."

Just who pilots the shuttle, anyway? A squad member who isn't part of the team? Some greyshirt? I like to think it's the family man who's worried about his wife and daughter for most of the game. I can see him yammering at Shepard and company on the way down, changing all the displays in the passenger compartment to pictures of his daughter. Tali indulges him, Garrus tries to steer the conversation in another direction, Renshep fumes, Parashep gives a speech about how it's families like this that we're fighting for.
Jack tells him to shut the f_ck up before she hunts down his f_cking family and kills them, then kills all of his f_cking friends, and burns his f_cking house to the f_cking ground.

because he was still trying to be authentic to Jack.

Regardless, doing a ME1 to ME2 full playthru with an assault rifle Adept who, upon resurrection, may go any number of directions. She may wake up angry, ready to pick up a shotgun and charge people out of rage over her death. Maybe she'll go all paragon-monk and focus more on her biotics. She might even forgo biotics and simply focus on her weapons. I like the potential story I could use with a class change.

It's kind of late to say, but I do appreciate the fact that the Geth cosmetically resemble, even now, their ex-masters, the Quarians. The Geth at the time of the revolution probably resembled them even more closely.

Yeah, it's a nice touch. Took me a while to pick me up, but when I did, I was all "oohhh".

Missed your edit of this. In retrospect, I think I missed a major point...the Geth and Quarians diverged in a time period before the modern suit-wearing Quarian came into existence, obviously. The Geth don't really resemble unsuited Quarians (from what details we can make out) anymore than a space suit resembles the human wearing it....

Accordingly, the real trick is that Geth were inspired by Quarian-biology, and thus, they look like the current stage of Quarian suits (for example, the head of an average Geth resembles that of a male Quarian's suit, or the similar arrangement of cables in the back of the head). It's a nice touch. Going back further, the Geth probably didn't look as much like Quarians initially. Instead, the irony is that after the Quarians left their world and donned suits, they started to resemble those who had ejected them in the first place.

(In other words, I have trouble conveying what I'm trying to say. :? Stupid ESL.)
Is it strange that ME Universe is the only sci-fi setting where I find the actual setting to be even more interesting then the focus of the games themselves? Star Wars and Star Trek are all about the characters, the actual settings of both are really boring and disjointed.

I actually feel that way about Star Wars. With the exception of Billy D. Williams, I find Star Wars' setting vastly more interesting to me personally than the various genetic legacies running practicing their plot-driving magic. My favorite characters, other than Lando, probably qualify more as setting objects (like Thrawn or Piett, etc.) than major characters.

Also, on the subject of using the word "fuck"...seems to be that the most 'mature' course, so to speak, is a conservative use of it. Using it repeatedly, even if you substitute one letter, kind of defeats that. Just me though.

I wish that RPG companies would stop trying to shove their weird dog fetishes into every game and realize that they're horrible replacements for a party member.

The only game with a good dog companion is Torchlight, and mine was a cat anyway

Pretty much agree. It's fine to have a dog on your ship as a pet or something, but as an actual party member not so much.

Stubby Legion and Tali wearing a tanktop confirmed!

Though of the few things we can say with certainty about Quarians, it's that they have two human-looking eyes and a human-looking nose. Either that, or they're wearing another mask under their helmets.....

Miranda's pretty much impossible to kill, so unless you're one of the Jack-Hating contingent or plan on taking Miranda into the final battle (which AFAIK is the only place she can actually die) the safe bet is to keep Jack loyal.

Miranda can also die at the hold the line section. She's just immune up until then in case you take her to the end so she can give her spiel.

She can? That must be pretty unlikely, though.

On the subject of which, if you take more than ten minutes to kill the final boss, will the bomb/radiation thing actually explode?

I doubt it, but I've never tried it. I've never really dallied at the end, so I don't even know whether the extra hold the line deaths thing is true or not.

Edit: My paragon engineer only lost the two Cerberus operatives, Jacob somewhere earlier and Miranda holding the line. Everyone else survived.

    It was very fitting.

Miranda can definitely die holding the line. My first run she was the only non-Loyal person and she died holding the line, every time, no matter what else happened. This was before I added Zaeed, and so didn't have his firepower at the back door which would likely have made a big difference.
