AUGMENTED REALITY GAMING
What is it?
Augmented reality gaming or "AR", is a type of gaming in which either by projection or altered viewing of real life environments, a digital aspect is added or substituted in order to create a game world. In essence, Taking what you see of the real world, and altering it in order to facilitate a game.
What are some examples of Augmented Reality Games?
The above spoiler'd game trailers and reviews, are examples of Augmented reality games, in which a camera focuses on a mat, or cards and creates a template world on top of it. The game Eye of Judgment has had some varying success, while the other games remain as tech demos.
What can we expect in the future of AR Games?
Well that is a good question. And the answer is vague. So far promising titles like Invizimals for the PSP, show how you can take the real world environment and interact with it in a collection game, while several demos at E3 this year for the 3DS showed Augmented Reality games being produced using the camera on the unit. As technology continues to advance, especially in the handheld gaming market, you can expect AR games to take off in a greater way than ever before.
What is the purpose of this thread?
To discuss Augmented Reality gaming as a general topic.
This is my first OP. Please be gentle.

How did it play?
Also, :^: on the title. I had an image of Adam Savage in the Blue Angels jet seconds away from ralphing as my avatar for a few days until people begged me to change it.
Im not sure on the specifics of it, but in the spoiler in the OP there is a video review of it. It looks like fun, but sadly i have not a PS3.
Yea Adidas had an AR thing going with their brand for some shoe. I forget what the hell that was all about.
Also, thanks for the cred on the title. Long time Mythbusters fan, and future Augmented Reality fan.
This is also why I think portables are one of the best spaces to utilize it, because the camera is mobile. As you move around the objects, your view of them changes.
This is the video I always posted in the past, from the ill-fated Gizmondo:
