iPhone Sync and Me

So I'm trying to sync my iPod to get this new fangled 4.0 update. Unfortunately, it's not working for me like I want. It's taking for -fucking- ever to backup my phone. About 7 GB of stuff, but it never takes this long during other backups. Anything I can do to expedite the process?

    So me backing it up is an issue with their servers? I downloaded the update no problem, but now it's backing my phone up and the bar has barely moved.

    I got around it by just doing a back up(by right-clicking on your phone in iTunes and choosing Back Up) and then doing a full restore. The most you'll lose is your music through this method.
