Gaming News Site Recommendations?

I read Kotaku to get most of my gaming news. I like their coverage because I feel like it's really extensive, but I'm getting tired of their writing. Sites like 1up, Joystiq, and GameTrailers are too media-heavy/news-lite for me. I'd like to find a gaming news site that's even simpler.

I just want a site that writes about game releases/announcements, and possibly posts a short blurb to describe what they're like. I'm sure there's a huge number of amateur blogs/sites that regurgitate press releases, but I'm looking for something that's a bit more quality than that.

Any suggestions?

Blue's News and Rock Paper Shotgun are all you need.

Pretty much. I also read TIGSource for indie game news and Flash of Steel for wargaming news.

Kotaku is the Huffington Post of gaming news.

Rock Paper Shotgun does a good job. Giant Bomb isn't bad either, though their site can be a pain to navigate.

Thanks guys, these are some great suggestions. Looks like Rock Paper Shotgun and TIGSource are exactly what I was looking for.

Ars Technica's gaming section is also really good.

    Gamasutra

More "industry" news, but occasionally they focus on particular games. They cover Indie games more readily than other sites like it, which i like.

They write about every announcement they hear: an executive quitting, a new company forming, technical specs for unreleased hardware, etc. For me, it goes beyond the game and more into the story of the industry as a whole, which is very interesting to read.
