can't tell you precisely what it is or where it goes, but i would think that's a missing Windows file. Something 3d related?

That happened to me too. Search your computer for the file; you'll probably find it in Word. Copy it into the game's folder as well, and you're good to go. No idea why it happens though.

I just downloaded it from the 'net; a quick virus scan didn't find anything so I guess I'm safe.

Not that it worked though - probably doesn't like Vista . A lot of OpenGL games don't run under it, or run pitifully slow, as beta video drivers from ATI and nvidia don't include an OpenGL driver, and the one that comes with the system emulate it in DirectX or some silly thing like that.

1Up also still has their 101 Free Games feature from last year up, which is pretty spiffy. Different stuff from this year's list, and includes Cave Story (which explains why it isn't listed this year).

They really ought to archive them in a logical place, or just list all 202 of them in one spot.

Bonus points if you play the Gameboy Color version of Daikatana. Amazingly... it doesn't suck!
