Absolutely. Some might not be willing to play with you in realism (which is foolish, I think), but we have a couple regulars that don't have a mic or very rarely use one (Dr.Tongue, for example).

Yeah that happens a few times. Not so nice in realism vs (if the infected team feels like being a dick they will target the micless) but very fine in the other modes. It's mostly just more fun with mics to cry out OH GOD or laugh together. If it's a problem (one team having 2 micless) turning on alltalk is advised just for kicks. Myself I don't enjoy L4D2 that much if no one is saying anything so I make a lot of noise

Awesome. I obviously wouldn't expect to try realism or anything, I just want to roll with PA people. I'm very familiar with the maps as I have the 360 versions as well, but I have literally never done multiplayer on Steam so I have no clue how it works.
I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels so much better than the 360 version. It must be the M/KB combo compared to a controller. Even though my framerate sucked, it still felt better than the 360 rate. So glad I bought these on Steam even if I can't play them "for real" until I get a new PC.
I'm gonna gift the bundle to a friend of mine, too. He'll appreciate the shit out of this, since he is hard up for cash.

No Mercy plays far better than it ever did in L4D with the new infected. Try to camp a closet in NM and you die. As it should be.

Yeah, I noticed that. I was particularly impressed actually with how much more diffcult parts of it were than I remember. Especially with bots: The poor fellows don't handle the new infected + cramped spaces at all well.

And with fewer aim troubles you can spend more focus on team/spatial awareness.
I guess maybe on the initial load it has to unpack textures or something that makes it stutter.
I might even throw it up to 2560x1440 and see how it handles that.
