While I really enjoy the singleplayer and the overrun mode I was kind of hoping for more integration with free roam. An Undead Nightmare Free Roam mode would rule.
This.
Why this wasn't included actually boggles my mind a bit. Hopefully a free update later provides us with such awesomeness.
It is very much like a Horde mode. But there is a pretty short time limit. You have to open a coffin every wave for more time, ammo, and new weapons. If you run out of time, no more coffins will spawn and you go into sudden death with endless zombies and no more ammo or weapons.
I don't know if the waves are endless or what. A friend and myself survived I think to the 10th wave. We maxed our survival time out at around 14 minutes.

Actually, that does make me sad. I do have hope for such an update though.
So I have 1600 points left, and it turns out I can get all three of the DLC in one bundle for exactly 1600 points.
Is it worth it? I was initially turned off by RDR's multiplayer (loved the co-op), but I am intrigued by the Liars and Cheaters pack (good excuse as any to finally learn how to play poker). Y/N?
Apparently they are implemented a Friendly Free Roam mode so you can do multiplayer stuff online without worrying about random asshats shooting you up while doing online things.
I am totally down for doing various multiplayer activities with PA folks, BTW.
Well I went and got the whole pack for 1600, only tried the Undead portion so far.
This could easily be the best DLC ever for a game. It's almost like an expansion pack, but with the same characters thrown into an outrageous situation. The dialog is hilarious, pretty much how you would expect people in a cowboy setting to react to zombies.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in partying up with me (on XBL) to play some Poker, maybe give me some tips on how to play (I'm embarrassed to say I don't know anything about the game)?

It is incredibly fun. It's a bit on the easy side (but then again that is true of RDR anyway), but there is something awesome about riding into town on War and burning a trail of Zombies down.

Did you find War pretty much right away? I thought he would be hard to find, but on my first trip to Armadillo, there he was, just runnin around.
I have a non-zombie-related question: I've been trying to do that boar tusks/armadillo shells hunting challenge for a while now but I almost never find any boars (the one time I did, N of Hennigan's Stead, they gored me, and since then they've been a big no-show). Any tips on where I can find boars more consistently?

go a bit north of Macfarland Ranch. There's train tracks and a steep hill.
Kill a few animals and the fuckers will come out in threes.
It's in Coagar land though. expect to be mauled and gored.

So is the only way to play multiplayer Poker and Dice in Free Roam?
Nope you gotta do it via "deathmatch" style. I understand why. Every game would end very quickly via a bullet through the skull. But at least we HAVE multiplayer poker and liars dice at this point.
Side question. Does
Irish
have a cameo in undead nightmare?

They already implemented the friendly free roam. It's pretty lame to be honest. Random asshats trying to shoot you keep the game interesting. Now I have to jump through several normal free roams just to find a full game because most people are in friendly matches cheesing the challenges/achievements.
I almost implulse bought the collection last night. Thank god my common sense kicked in.. I don't want those other packs. The product descriptions are terribly unhelpful.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Is the Collection worth it? i never bought Liars and Cheats or Legends and Killers. Would it be worth the extra ten for those two as well as Undead Nightmare?

Are they doing a double XP weekend to celebrate the launch of Undead Nightmare?
I thought I saw something about this, yes.
The reason I asked rather than just booting up the game is because I'm playing an un-patched version of the game so I can get the pre-nerf experience rates.
But if they're gonna do double-XP, I might re-patch my game and hop in and do some grinding on live servers playing the various game modes and free roam. My character is either 28 or 29 right now. All I want is 50 so I can have my platinum trophy, but leveling is just so looooooong.

If you enjoy multiplayer then it's absolutely worthwhile. It's pretty much a buy 2 get the 3rd one free deal.
I must say that Landgrab is one of the best additions to freeroam yet. It really makes freeroam a more dynamic experience. Loving it so far.

Oooh, what's landgrab?
It's like King of the Hill in Free Roam. There's points all over the map that you can use to activate a Land Grab. The longer you hold it without dying from other players, the more XP you get. If you do die, the land changes hands. The XP is divided amongst all the players who held the land based upon how long you held it. It's standard fare as far as King of the Hill goes, but RDR just lends itself so well to the experience.
Oh hey, that sounds neat. How are the XP gains in Land Grab. Is it worth investing the time? I really, really, really want to hit 50, but I'm bored to tears of clearing bandits. If there's a better option, I would take it. Land Grab sounds fun but is the XP any good?
I haven't played much of the multi yet. I'm assuming hardcore multi is the way to go? I can't imagine the normal one is too fun when people can auto lock on you the moment they see you.....

The XP varies. The pot increases based upon how many players you kill while defending your land. I think it also increases on a set timer.
If lots of people participate, the XP can be really good.
I don't see it as a sole way of gaining XP, but it's great because it adds variation and is challenging. There's just so much to do to gain XP now that it's hard to get bored imo.
As to the question above, Hardcore is not really the way to go. I don't think a lot of people play it. It's exceedingly difficult to shoot people while riding on a horse, which may be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Also, keep in mind that autoaim is disabled against players when you're doing a Hideout. I like the casualness of Normal. I don't have to try quite as hard as I would if I was playing an FPS, it's just simple fun.
Honestly, I've never been griefed to the extent that some of the stories I've heard. It's literally impossible to get griefed without recourse. Either teleport away or switch to a new game, it's pretty simple.

Ah, cool.
So does anyone here frequently play Poker? I really want to try it out with some PA folk, and maybe get some pointers along the way.
Online poker and dice is pretty much the main reason I went for the complete pack. I like the idea of an XBLA party hobbled together in a table trying to bluff each other out.

I play poker almost as much as I play the "main" game.
What happy horse shit is this?! I tried to get to the store so I can DL the nightmare pack, and says the store is not available in my country/region!!!
Since fucking when is the store not available in the US!
