I am a commercial diver, so I spend most of my time offshore. My problem is that I want to use my laptop to game offshore, and I am having some difficulty with it. My laptop is a Toshiba, with dual 1.6 intels, 2 gigs of ram, and a 128 MB graphics card. I'm thinking that my issue lies with my graphics card, because it is a card that has been discontiued by radeon, and when I buy a game that has specs well below that of my laptop, sometimes I still can't play it.
So, I know at some point I will have to get a new laptop, but I am not too keen on it since I bought like... three? last year. I know AlienWare is supposed to be really good, but is there some way I can get a good gaming laptop without dropping like $3500?
You don't have to get anything too expense to be able to game on a laptop.
For instance I grabbed an Asus from proportable. I need something small (13in, around 4 lbs) but the key was that it had it's own dedicated video card. (Which is hard to find in something that small) Cost me $1999
Aleinware used to be great, as all the components that aren't the eye cathers were of great quality. Sadly they have gone down hill since Dell bought them. I got a laptop from them a few months after and I've had so many problems with it. I've heard that the best are from Falcon NW but they are very expensive, so I certainly won't be able to tell anybody about first hand experiences.

Go out to the http://www.notebookreview.com/ and check out the forums, they usually have some good user reviews.
