Beated, but yes. Early game, it's easy to refer to things based on how many workers you currently have; assuming you're building one and rallying to an open mineral patch as soon as the last one completes, you should have a pretty good idea how many mins you'll have at any given moment. Also, the earlier you start building structures, the bigger a hit to your economy. Waiting longer builds you a stronger economy, but leaves you with a weaker military. It's a balancing act, based on playstyle and what you believe your opponent is doing.
Incidentally, I should mention that when I 8-pool, I wait for 8 lings rather than 6 - it's only a few seconds later, but the extra 2 lings make all the difference in killing that first zealot and/or swarming workers.
after a game, when it tells you how many workers you made, does that count include all the drones you changed into buildings (for zerg) or does it only count the ones that were mining?
cause sometimes is a hardcore game, i'll have 3 or 4 expansions and at the end, i'll see i built like 60 or 70 drones (while my opponent only had like 35). i cannot imagine that i had that many mining drones, but by that point, im not really counting (and 20 drones per expansion is not that ridiculous).
On the one hand, I dislike fighting with companies when they make a mistake. On the other, this would be a grand experiment.
fuck, it's not worth missing the chance.
edit: purchased two, and took screenshots of the entire order process. Pretty much every time money was mentioned, a screenshot was taken and saved.
As an employee of the company (*boo hiss*), I seriously doubt they're going to honor the transaction. Most likely they'll refund you at some point.
Plus the online store has always been an odd duck. We had a customer come into the store to do an exchange a couple days ago. They had ordered Lego Harry Potter for 360 online and got sent Assassin's Creed for ps3. The packing receipt also said Harry Potter.
I wouldn't expect much out of the online store. But best of luck to you. Let us know if they follow through in a few weeks.
Will definitely do so.
Came back in to notify people that the site's been changed to say 'coming soon', instead of 'add to cart'.
We'll see what happens.
It's probably already been said, but I just got the confirmation email from Best Buy saying the order was cancelled. Majorly bummed, but not surprised.

Ezekiel on
I will throw you on the land and hurl you on the open field. I will let all the birds of the air settle on you and all the beasts of the earth gorge themselves on you. I will spread your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains. I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh. - Ezekiel 32: 4-6
Reduced violence? I hope that is just a joke. It would probably mean that Blizzard folded to Korea's rating system, and rather than make a modified version for SK, they toned it down for everyone. BOOOOO
there isn't a lot of graphic death anyway, only really when things get torched or exploded by colossi and banelings. which I hope they did not remove, seeing things go up in green slime is half the fun of using banelings.

They listed that in the supposed "options" screen.

Far be it me to read that list in order, OOPS. Well then, who cares!
It's neat because they are generally very smart over there, and concepts that take a few pages here to thrash out are coming out in a couple of quote trees over there.
Largely, yes, because they've just read an article about it, but there seems to be less senseless disagreement and more "Yes, that makes sense, good point."

Hrm I've always wondered about the spam in terms of clicking move like 5x pointlessly. On the one hand, I still think APM is a total epeen thing, but on the other I see the value of being able to do alot of things within a short span of time consistently. So I also see the merit of saying said spam is keeping the player 'warm' or in a rythm to be able to do more meaningful actions at the pace they have established and maintained by spamming move orders and such. Either way I guess you can't argue with the results, these guys are amazingly good...
In other news, I hope I am lucky enough to get into the beta this time!

RealId question, though I am sure you guys are sick of that shit.
Are they going to bring back the ability to friend people based on their identifier like you could early beta or did they do away with that entirely?
Because without not only do you give out your real name, but you also have to give out you e-mail address.
yes, they brought back a modified version of the identifier system. You'll have your Bnet name (Uselesswarror) and then a private number attached to the end. Give your name and number to your friend and they can friend you.

I think it's stupid.
Now if I have like 3 Trus on my list, (because everyone wants to spoof an internet superstar) I have to remember which one is Trus.543, Trust.135, and Trus.542. I think having actual letters as an identifier was much better, they should have just limited it to 3-4 characters.

Ok, I am happy then. I didn't know how far Blizzard was going to go with this RealId insanity.
Though I have to say a number is way less interesting then some of the funny postfixes people came up with for their usernames.
Man I just signed a lease for an August 1st move in, which means I will not have any time to play this game at all for about the first 2 or so weeks post release, how much does that blow?
I liked some of the features of real ID, like seeing what your friend was doing, or being able to add a friend of a friend. But always having someone's real name pop up when they msg you in game, or seeing only real names when you do friend of a friend was super annoying.
I am fine with RealId for people I know in real life. Like I added my brothers to it first thing. But I really don't want to be sharing anything but fun times when I play with people from this forum.

as far as i can remember, yes. zerg need gaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss.
and expansions obviously.
I'll putz.
Me too.
I dunno, that sounds like a pretty reasonable amount of drones.
They listed that in the supposed "options" screen.
-Z
Far be it me to read that list in order, OOPS. Well then, who cares!
Or, we won't know about them until b.net (or fake b.net) is up?
We won't know about them 'till b.net's up or they release patch notes.
Right now all we can do is look at the login and option screens.
The login now has a "Create account" option instead of "remember me" when you enter your bnet id.
And yeah, "reduced violence" is a checkable option, not automatic.

Hacker News talks about APM in Starcraft
It's neat because they are generally very smart over there, and concepts that take a few pages here to thrash out are coming out in a couple of quote trees over there.
Largely, yes, because they've just read an article about it, but there seems to be less senseless disagreement and more "Yes, that makes sense, good point."
I resisted the urge
you are a stronger man than i
Are they going to bring back the ability to friend people based on their identifier like you could early beta or did they do away with that entirely?
Because without not only do you give out your real name, but you also have to give out you e-mail address.
You will have an ununique name and a 3-4 digit identifier.
yes, they brought back a modified version of the identifier system.
