Sometimes people get dumb and leave early. As unbelievable as it sounds, I've had not one but two people quit on me while talking to them after they pushed my shit in, giving me free wins.
grid hot keys are the way to go. Takes a lil time to get used to them, but then it's all visual instead of remembering, y for cy core and a for marauder.

I don't want to get used to them though, spells on ZXCV would drive me crazy plus by now A to attack, S to stop and H to hold position is hard wired into my fingers. And T for most spells worth casting.

though to make up for it the starcraft gods gave me a match where a ZvZ tried a super-all-in ish push with Roaches, and as soon as the push failed he left the game.

You're going to remember normal hotkeys eventually if you play enough. Grid hotkeys just don't make sense from an accessibility standpoint.
I have a truly ridiculous amount of difficulty in ZvT. Like, I honestly don't know how you're supposed to beat a competent Terran player; Vikings outclass Mutas and Corrupters to a ridiculous degree, and breaking the fucking ramp is basically impossible unless you rush Banelings. Risking 8 food (and a ridiculous amount of research time) making OLs into shuttles is retarded, considering how fragile they are, and you can't hide your tech because they'll just fucking scan you. Really irritating.
Probably doesn't help that, despite being in Silver league, every goddamn game I've played has been against gold or platinum players.

I like the grid hotkeys
here's a zerg question, since I don't play them almost ever but just did... how do I know which larvae I'm selecting? should I just not bind all my hatcheries to the same hotkey? I'm talking for drone-making, if I don't know which base I'm making them at I don't know where they're going (obviously).
it was a friendly game and I just massed lings and expanded a lot but I had no idea how to deal with that... and several other things, but first things first :P

I keep my hatches hotkeyed separately up to 4 bases, and after that 2 of them at least are probably not going to be making drones. It also allows me to focus on them by double-tapping, too, which is nice. I don't think you can tell otherwise, but I normally start with hatches as 4, 5, 6, and 7, tech structures as 8, 9, and 0, and army as 1, 2, and 3.
I should probably play this game but...zerg is just SO BORING
See I feel the opposite, I feel like zerg is one of the most interesting. Where as protoss seem somewhat dull to me. Terran seem very lively but I can never seem to get them outside going pretty much bioball and thors. I can't ever seem to use siege tanks effectively except as a purely static defense.
Also I just watched a replay of myself and I didn't even realize but I am up to about 80 APM now, WOOHOO!

that'd be so good for worker harrass. Pop up, fungal, queue fungal and burrow right away ,fungal again when the first runs out, laugh at dead workers from safely underground
Well, I finally get back on the beta after visiting my friend's house for the wedding, play my 5 placement matches...
...and I'm now in Bronze. Fantastic, seeing as I was closing on Gold rank before. Now I get to mope around because apparently I'm worse than I've ever been.

The general level of beta players is higher, at least it feels that way. I'm barely cutting it in silver after being gold/plat in phase 1.

I wasn't ever in gold+, but in silver players are really much better. People expland and do things, and I haven't had a "easy" game in like... well I don't even remember having an easy game.
Are Terran really good or something with the new patch? Because all the games I lost were to Terran, and I steamrolled the other ones. Maybe it's just because I'm Protoss?

I have the same problem with PvT.
I think my real problem is that I can't prepare for whatever they're attempting since I'm unable to scout past the wall in the early game. The proper counter for banshees is very different from the proper counter for a standard ground push.

I get rolled by toss, and win against zerg/terran so far. As toss that is. Probably comes down to who you meet, and how you play. I'm just terrible at predicting what a toss will do, even though I play it myself. Much easier knowing what a zerg or terran will do for some reason.
Either I have learned to scout properly against terrans, or I've just met people who are bad at denying it. Always managed to keep my probe alive long enough to know if they are doing something fishy, and otherwise some early stalkers poking in has scouted what's up.

Sorry, yes, my average APM is less than 35
I also don't use hotkeys. At all. It's too damn hard to remember shit.

This is pretty good, it's at QXC vs. Haypro. The map is Fighting Spirit! New maps zomg.
But a good map. Macrofest though.

Remember Andromeda?
This link doesn't have the chat if you don't want it.
Refreshing a few timnes usually fixes ustream for me.
On another topic, I can't find any custom maps on EU b.net, so I need to publish them myself, or am I missing something obvious?

Wow, way to steal our idea Diamond
Sorry, I wasn't serious about the patch notes. I was just insinuating that the patch notes actually have a bit about a first born son.
