Another 'name that game' thread?

I believe this game was once advertised on the main page of PA, but due to the fact that I can't recall a single piece of solid info on it, Google has told me to GTFO.

The game controlled a bit like Asteroids, but you had a mother ship that you had to protect. R&D and ship customization was very important. I believe you were lost in space and trying to reach home, not sure though. It had a free demo but the full game was $20 or so.

Thanks.

    Starscape

I didn't think this game was all that great, though. Starts out okay, but gets into a rut real fast.

I had only played the demo, but remembered it being very fun. I guess i'll try the demo some more before i buy it. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I downloaded the demo and played it too (on Penny-Arcade's insistance). FWIW, it seemed cool though the wannabe anime charaters made my eyes roll. I seem to rememebr blowing up asteroids to collect resources for something then returning to a mothership. I can't recall the name, but is that it?

Yes, thats it, and exactly what I was looking for. Actually a bit tedious, but it has potential. I'm sick and was looking for a way to kill time and remembered this :).

    Yes, that's it.

I think I got stuck in it later, not being able to beat some boss or something.

I remember playing a game similar to this but it was a multiplayer game. Like a big asteroids map with quite a lot of players on it hopping around as traders, pirates and so on. I loved it for the brief moment I had it before losing everything on that computer, never did remember the name. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sounds like a more fleshed out multiplayer iteration of Star Controll II. Like Command Adventures or something.

Could you land on planets and build bases there, or attacking other people's bases? I remember having lots of fun in that game but can't remember the name.
