man, sometimes it takes a new shitty, buggy, mess of a popular FPS (I've been trying to play it on PC, obviously) to really make you realize what you already had. totally ready for vietnam and bf3 (wtb no prone in bf3, plz).

Ugh, I just tried playing a game and it ended up being fifteen minutes of the other team locking us down in our base with an Apache, a Havoc, an Abrams and a T-72 backed up by a a couple of recon-support pairings.

If I'd had some more unlocks I might have been able to break out but I'm not even level 10 yet and if this is how it's going to be I don't think I'll be getting much further up the ranks either.

What does wtb mean? I can't tell if your asking for it or you want it left out.

I think prone is a must. Sometimes crouching in BC2 isn't good enough because the cover is lower than you. Prone helps with that.

It would be okay if instead they would actually add a first person cover system (Like Red Orchestra 2) which would make your guy the appropriate height would negate some need for it, but prone needs to stay.

It'll have prone, but you have to keep holding down the key for it to work. And then DICE won't patch in prone toggling until 4-5 months after the game is released.

(Alternative dumbshit remark: Prone will be added in as DLC.)

As much as I roll my eyes a bit whenever I hear the term "cover system", the one in the new RO looks pretty sweet all said and done. totally want to try out that shiz.

Also, the froufrou over BLOPS reminded me that I still have this game installed and should start playing it again over the weekend.

Pfft, you PC bums. Wish I could join.

Had some great matches on 360 last night, and a few not so great. One match we got beat so bad, 12 on 6, started with my two squad mate UK friends constantly killing each other non stop (We'd been playing for a while, getting a bit loopy). I was out capturing points on my own, the other teammates were recons and had high-tailed it to the hills on the edge of the map.

Yeah, that ended like the one you described Yorker. Two tanks, snipers, a slew of medics in our base, and these guys knew exactly where we'd spawn. It was 10 min of spawn, take 1 step, die, repeat. I think that ended with them having 330 some tickets to our 0. Wow.

The other matches went down to the wire, those are the best.

When mostly PA people are on playing, no, it's not like that. That tends to happen when the teams stack, something we try and avoid when PA'ers are on.

For instance, last night, Winnie and Carbon were on different teams.

Oh, yah, I had a couple of questions. I haven't been paying attention to the patch notes, so I'm not sure what's been done to what weapons:

Are the M16 and M416 still considered the assault rifles of choice (depending on if you want trigger fire or full auto), or have people swapped the M16 for the Akaban?

Is the GOL still the lowest bullet drop sniper rifle?

Are the M60 and Carl Gustav still dumb and overpowered and cheesable?

Yea, but that isn't the reason I hate prone - after playing BO, I "remembered" how annoying it is to have people you're trying to kill do a little double bunny hop and drop immediately into prone, all the while being able to constantly aim and shoot exactly where they want. When your first thought in a shootout is to aim for the legs/feet because that's seemingly the only consistent mass you can find, that makes me cringe.

People complain about hackers whenever they are losing. To be fair, Winnie WAS 18-1 at one point, which to most people looks pretty fishy. He would have been 18-2, but my attempt to stab him failed when I accidentally jumped instead of stabbed (been trying to retrain myself to the DEFAULT control scheme, it's been a rocky road). I always do my best on Nelson Bay or Arica Harbor, I really don't understand the hate for Nelson. I realize people like tanks and vehicles, but pure infantry is fun at times.

I practically never knife, its failure rate is too high for me. Carbon still manages to land 90% of hits on me because the game hates me, but those few times he appears out of the ether to claim my soul and I hear the grating sound of knife on bone and manage to live, I thoroughly enjoy spraying him to death.

Also it seems like my tab button is faulty. Won't open the Pip-Boy in New Vegas and doesn't bring up the scoreboard in this game. For some reason it works outside of games perfectly.

The first set of points in Nelson Bay is one of my favs - ruined only by the fact that both A and B can be destruction 2.0'ed - the rest of the map is tolerable, but I really do have some of the most fun attacking and defending the first zone.

Arica first zone that can just be tanked down from their spawn just completely ruins the map for me - why bother even having that in the game? Oh well, whateva - get 'em trying to get into A in the next map haha ;)

I killed a few people with the GOL close range last night because when I switched my setup from my VSS setup to my GOL setup I forgot to switch the optics, so I had red-dot instead of 12x :P It did seem to do the job pretty well.
