It is the hob storyline. There appear to only be 2 storylines and the other is 3 pages so it isn't like there is a lot of choices.
Have you read all the single comics over on the left side of the archive page?
Those are what you should have started with.
Nah. I'd assumed those were just for-fun one-shots without any (or much) relevance to a main storyline. Like you get with most comics. But I'll check em out.

They're way more entertaining than any arcs they try to do. And it's not a comic that really relies on a main storyline that things have to be relevant to in the first place.
Man I am trying to read through Dresden Codak and the art is pretty dang awesome but the panel layout is dicks and sometimes the protagonist has an attitude I just wanna smack the crap out of. Also the whole "omg it's her, she's the one, how could we have come back to this time with her she's so special in a mysterious way we won't go into right now" thing is really tired and old. Ugh.
I haven't really gotten that far though so it may get better.
the author definitely has a weird thing going on with the main character
between the mary sue-ism and the overt sexualization of her appearance...

He doesn't even appear to have a very good technological singularity fetish. There are way more interesting futures than just lol machines.
And if we have flash drives as small as 4 terabytes in, what was it, 30 years I'll eat my hat. At the rate technology is going they'll be substantially bigger than that.

I think we're working on making the tech smaller in physical size now rather than bigger in storage, what with mini-sd and such. Mini-sd by the way is completely fucking ridiuclous. You shouldn't be able to put 16 gigs of data on something so damn tiny.

A magician gives you a ring that, when worn, will let you see the world as it truly is.
However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.

seriously
my computer is about 8-9 years old now
it boggles my mind that you could replace my entire computer with basically your phone these days
the second is a little annoying too though, because even in some of the worst 3rd world countries you still find cell phones and can still get a signal. It's hardly as if technological improvement only happens to rich white people.
you know they purposely plan to make products obsolete though right? sometimes they have all the features for a product all lined up but purposely leave them out to include them in later models
yeah but those brazilian dudes got like tvs and cell phones from the 80s and before then. they don't swap out their NV2s for NV3s or wait in line for a week for an Ipad or get blu-ray players every month
yeah actually that one documentary about that brazillian tribe, one of the last ones, segregated from society almost completely
they still have satellite TV and cell phones
It isn't as though there aren't things the world needs to focus on that have little to do with how quickly the next widget is released, that's completely true. It's just that both comics have an attitude that nerds are ruining everything by progressing. Yeah, that's just retarded.
he's not saying progress is bad he's saying its extremely wasteful to buy a new computer when you have a perfectly good computer albeit older
computers phones tvs etc

you guys should try this shit out
or it seems he's just willfully ignoring the obvious benefits of technological progression.
that's more to the first comic than the second though
