huh.. It seems that when people are at their happiest now days they end up getting slammed with dramatic news. Had a friend recently break up with her "soulmate" after they bought a house and she got a car. She just came back form a trip all happy too.
Sorry to hear that mars.

Kind of unwieldy here, to be honest, but still really neat and I'll have plenty of room to use it in Rotterdam, which is where it'll be after the summer break.
Also Koch koch koch koch. Polly is selling her Holmes-Houdini comic at SDCC. DO YOU WANT A COPY and you just pay me back later, idk she probably is going to do online selling with like 20 or so requests backing it up. DO YOU WANT HOT PIX OF ME AND POLLY ACTION!?
I'm starting to see just how much work I've got cut out for me when it comes to putting my fiance through the geek initiation process. The sheer number of great films that she has never seen just boggles my mind. First it was the original Star Wars trilogy. Then it was the entire James Bond series.
Now -- I just found out -- it's Predator.
PREDATOR!!!
That's it, I have to stop at Best Buy after work today to pick up the original on Blu-Ray. I cannot accept the fact that my future wife has never understood the significance behind "GET TO DE CHOPPAH!!!" and "DO EET NOWWWW," which my brother and I say all the time when playing Left 4 Dead with her. When I mentioned this to her, she went "Oh, that's from that movie? I never knew."

I was recently on a train when someone's mobile phone rang - the ringtone was Yoda's voice saying "Sense you have a text, I do!" or something similar.
Anyway, I overheared this guy nearby comment to his ladyfriend that the voice was 'That little green man from Star Trek'.
It made me chuckle. I think it's awesome that some people are completely immune to the saturation of cultural references, icons and films. I applaud them for staying away and like to think that they are secret geniuses of some kind.

Uhhh, he was wrong. That voice was from Babylon 5. DUH.
Yeah, that was a huge disappointment. I was also saddened to hear that the Dark Crystal sequel seems to be caught in development limbo with a dropped-out director as well. I've learned not to get my hopes up for big-title projects until an official trailer is released (and even then, it's still a gamble).
Tangentially, I was watching a documentary with Jim Henson in it and it's so weird to hear Kermit directing real people around and talking about muppetry technical challenges.

Here's a little trivia for you:
I went to the same high school and college as Jim Henson. In fact, I live in the same town he grew up in.

goddammit.
The mspa forums are actually more work safe than you bunch of idiots over here.
I can't fucking believe that. The people who spend all day dreaming up romances between 13 year old kids are safer to be around than you fuckers.
Just let that stew in your fat fucking heads for a while. Then take a good hard look in the mirror and try to imagine yourselves and your place on the scale of things that suck.
Well particularly for those of us who browse through a government filter, dude... I mean I know they don't monitor EVERYTHING that goes on through our computers here, but still. Don't really want to push our luck, y'know.
This is just about the only message board that hasn't been filtered out. I've only found one gaming site that isn't completely blocked (gametrailers -- also G4 works, but c'mon, who goes there?), and almost every type of social networking site is a no-go as well. Fortunately the company actually uses Facebook and Twitter for their own advertising/network efforts, so those sites are completely open to the employees (in fact I'm actually the one in charge of updating the company's pages on those sites too, so having them open in my browser technically means I'm working. :winky:)
On an unrelated topic, I've got to cut down on my caffeine intake in the mornings. I'm way too freaking jittery right now. It's like I can feel my hands and arms trembling from within.

This actually makes me jealous.
A pot of coffee for me and the headaches finally go away.
I never acquired the palate for coffee... I love the smell, but can't stand the taste. Lately I've been so lethargic in the mornings that I've started taking a caffeine pill with a can of soda. Probably not the best mixture of things considering the pill has the potency of about 2 cups of coffee. I think this is a new habit I'll be breaking VERY quickly.

Scratch that, I'll take that as you thanking the board. It's hard to tell sometimes. Either way I'm going to bed.
Sorry to hear that mars.
Now to hook this bitch up!

Speaking of, did you hear about Peter Jackson backing out of the Hobbit flick?
D-d-damn. I was looking forward to that.
Wait, I never got the invite. I demand my complimentary mimosa.

The more you know...
And things still load behind spoilers, you know.
Some of us are at work.

God I hate all of you
No, actually, there's a lot of stuff wrong with it. Basically every aspect of it apart from the background is wrong.
Yeah, was just gonna say. Whoa.
I'm also jealous of you guys that have jobs where you can use message boards at work.
