all of these great changes to classes i already leveled. are they lowering the lv requirement to dual wield on shaman? because that would be oh so awesome. fuck waiting until lv40.

Choosing enhancement at level 10 gives it to you, IIRC.
I'll be waiting for that one myself. Dorf shammy, ahoy!

Q: What are your thoughts on there being guild housing as a possible guild leveling reward?
A. Our design dilemma with guild housing relates to what players might do in a guild house. If you generally hang out there, and have vendors and banks and Auction House access, then you stay there all the time and it makes the cities feel pretty dead. In a game with instanced dungeons and now phases, we are reluctant to provide more reasons for players to not see other players. It’s a social game! If we can come up with a good role for guild houses then we’ll definitely do them in the future.
I would love to have a guild hall, I also don't want an AH, regular bank or crap vendor in there either. A guild hall with customizable decor, access to the guild bank, and maybe a guild trophy room (A room with unlock-able trophies, plaques, ribbons, medal, etc... that would be unlocked by defeating say...Deathwing with a min number guild members present in the raid. Have a section for huge trophies/plaques for guildwide conquests and a smaller section for individual progress.)
As for the AH, reg bank and vendors, I want to have to go out of my house and to a town to buy crap that I need.
I really don't care about guild halls at this point. It seems like it would take a lot of effort to make something that most players will think is really cool a week after the patch hits then never really care about them again until they can see frostmourne hanging from the wall, once.
What would Guild Halls be FOR really? I mean, other then shit that would just remove a bunch of people from the Capital cities which it's very reasonable for them not to want to do.
Like really, some Trophies and that's it? That's alot of wasted design time for something that's pretty much useless.

I'd be cool with this. It'd be a neat feature, but not required or anything. Being able to teleport to it would be nice too.
Blizzard still hasn't gotten back to me on trying to find out how to retrieve my account. I even tried calling them and either the phone was busy or they were full of phone calls which is a new one for a company to say. Give them another day or 2, kinda thought this would be quick. :?
So I've spent the last 13 hours camping a spawn of Mekthorg the Wild in Hellfire peninsula... nothing. But I know the moment I go to bed he'll pop up. Eyes closing on their own.
Slept 9am to 2pm, logged in, back to camping. 8pm now, no spawn yet (unless he spawned and got killed while i slept).
Bastard!

The whole game is pretty much useless.
The housing in LotRO is pretty awesome. Being able to hang trophies from instances helps to make it feel like you're accomplishing something. I would like to see player housing in WoW.
Titles and special mounts and achievements already make me feel like I'm accomplishing something.
I'm just being realistic. No one would go if they didn't have a reason. Hanging trophies from instances is a reason, but it's not one that encourages sustained use. You go once everytime you'd get a new trophy, and that's it. Their reasons are valid that if they actually gave the housing utility like vendors and banks, it would take away from the population of regular cities. If they didn't, no one would use them, so it would be an empty gesture anyway.
How often do you visit old content once you've completed it, if you don't an explicit reason for doing so? It's the same for housing. Everytime you get a new trophy you'd go and check it out, 'cool, new trophy' and then leave until you get another trophy.

I'd rather have more instances or quests or anything else actually useful. Something you could do something with.
Personal Housing or Guild Housing or whatever is the equivalent of opening up your character window and mousing over your gear going "Man, my gear is awesome!". Except it's a room.

That's you. That's not everybody.
There's plenty of neighborhoods in LotRO that are full. Maybe people don't go all the time, but it helps feel like there's have an actual connection to the world instead of just, "Well, time to get the new purps."

My guild would use a guild hall for many kinds of events, for RP uses, for our (usually) weekly meetings and as a place to hang out and talk while we're just chilling.
As far as old content, I like a few of the previous raids (Kara, Naxx (new/old), Ulduar, ZG, and AQ40) and I liked a few of the dungeons (Scholomance, Stratholme, MGT, SFK). I loved all the Duskwood quests as well, I always go from 20-27 through there on any alt.
I believe that guild halls would be great if Blizzard would really get into making them.
What would be so terrible about emptying out the cities a little bit? People would still show up to stroke their e-peen with their fancy mounts and titles, and it would be nice to actually see Dalaran instead of a few vague outlines while I wait for the portals to zone in.

The only cities outside of Dalaran that really need "thinning out" are Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Hopefully Cata filters more people in Darnassus or TB or Undercity or somewhere.

My blood elves alts hang out in Slivermoon because it has all the amendites the other cites have
But then my brother teases me I don't change my hearth
My warlock hearths to Brill, my warrior to Thunder Bluff, all my blood elves to Slivermoon, my draenei priest to Shatt and so on
I was a Silvermoon guy. Between the population and positions of the bank, AH, repair/vendor, and mailbox, I was set. Too bad this dipshit rogue CONSTANTLY kills the auctioneers. I've since fled to the iron curtain of Undercity.
I probably should have posted that as a loathe awhile back. Ho hum.
They should have the auctioneers and bank people act like real bank people a magic shield pops up as someone attacks them and they do taunts and rudes to the person attacking them from behind it

I'm surprised to see there isn't any chatter going on about the player housing thing which actually got some attention in the recent dev chat. I mean, we're not getting player housing or anything, but we at least know why; Blizzard can't come up with a function for it. The bank / auction house function thing is off the table because it'd remove players from the game world and lower social interaction (which goes against the whole "MMO" thing) (and I agree with the point).
So Blizzard says they'll start on player housing once a reasonable function is found for them.
... So start fucking brainstorming you guys, and email them, fuck! <_<
Edit - I'm sorry, when I say player housing I mean guild housing.
Housing can be fun in a sandbox-type environment where it feels like you've staked out a small piece of land for yourself, and you can use it as your base
But in WoW the only option would be a private instance for your house which defeats its purpose. At that point it just becomes another personal and isolated toy instead of player created content in the open world. So, meh.
Guild halls could be kind of interesting, but I'm honestly not sure what point they would serve in a game like WoW beyond RP purposes

Nope, that just has a sprint animation. No transformation.

Because I got a SC2 beta key and I'm not sure if I should be like 'hey, awesome' or "son of a bitch now I'll never get into the cata beta fuuuuuck"
And my subscription ran out last night. I didn't even notice. I don't really miss WoW any more, because I've been that bored.
Though I'm still going to post in here like the awful person I am.
I'll be waiting for that one myself. Dorf shammy, ahoy!
