At the start of the second vid I considered doing a compilation video of every "fuck" instance, but I [wisely] decided not to. Someone else should. :winky:
I bought this game just to prove to myself that doing things the hard way wasnt as hard as you made it look.... Well it broke my spirit three times today and i just about cried when i actually made it but mad props to you for not taking all day to achieve the intestinal fortitude to do this.

This is my second time through the game, though. :P
Granted, it has been months since my last time, but still.
Haha, Sweeney's Maze. Memories of ZZT come flooding back.
(for those who never played, those were worms/centipedes)

My favorite part is the voice-in when Verdigris drops into the repeating tunnel and says "Aaaarggggh" and the computer voice says "Aaaaagigigigigigigigig".
Also, your raging is hilarious josh. It makes me laugh.
e: I'm totally downloading all of your videos to throw on my PSP for later hilarity, josh. LP on, good sire.
I'd like to wrap up this first part to the competition so we can have another going by the time I get around to making Part 5. I need at least one more slashfic entry before I can judge a winner!

Oh hey, I was hoping this would be commented on.
Normally when the text-to-speech makes a weird mistake I've been taking it out. The errors thus far haven't really been entertaining, just confusing. But when I typed the character's exclamation into the program and listened to it this time, it made me laugh and so I didn't fix it.
Hopefully more of these will pop up later.
Also, I have some good ideas for bonus videos, but I'm not telling what they are just yet. :P

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxe and ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;e are two to try in text to speech. Possibly jjjjjjjjjjjjje as well. There are some awesome sound effects you can pull off.
By the way, I didn't get to talk about this during Part 4, but the music during the Gravitron sequence is my favorite track in the game. It's called Positive Force, and we'll hear it at least one more time. It's pretty much a more intense version of Pushing Onwards.

After a shitty day of wondering whether my rent check would clear or not, these videos brought a smile to my face and actually inspired me to get off my arse and start Let's Playing Fury of the Furries, which I've been meaning to do for a while.
I don't think I have the patience for VVVVVV, which is a shame because it's a brilliant concept.
Watching this at work really is walking a tightrope. On one hand, listening to Josh invent brand new expletives and cusses is a beautiful thing. On the other hand my headphone cord is shorter than Gary Coleman and I have a habit of accidentally pulling it out of the port.

This LP... so much lol. That part where you got to the next screen and died immediately... omg I was crying with laughter.
I await more eagerly.
EDIT: I just thought. If someone used your colourful vocals during the Gravitron section and dubbed them over something sexually suggestive... ever more hilarity would ensue.
Clearly nobody else is interested in participating in the slashfic competition. S'cool. I'll just judge between our four entrants tomorrow if there aren't any more entries, and we'll move onto something else.
Would that be fair? I don't know how many people in this thread own the game.
no you don't get it, the competition is that you do the graviton 100 times and we all guess how many naughty words you use during that period :winky:
From watching so far this game is definately a lot fairer than IWBTG, by that of course I mean that there's logic to most of the deaths as opposed to IWBTG were you get killed by randomly appearing spikes or apples that fall up. So I don't think we're seeing as much frustration as we did in the IWBTG LP but that might be the best for your health if nothing else.

IWBTG was about 60% totally unfair, unpredictable deaths and 40% extremely tough platforming sections. The Tetris level was a combination of the two; you don't know ahead of time where all the blocks will go, but once you do it's still tough to actually perform the task at hand. The scene with the slow-moving platforms and the billions of spikes wasn't unfair, it was just really tough (although the first time I played through it, I was extremely afraid of getting to the very end and having a spike randomly shoot out and murder me). Ryu jumping out of a pit to tatsu you to death was 100% unfair and not difficult to bypass.
This game, on the other hand, is 100% difficult platforming/puzzling. There really aren't any unfair situations thrown at you, and the hardest portions of the game are usually totally optional (with at least one notable exception, which you all haven't seen yet), like Veni Vedi Vici. Also, the checkpoints are much more numerous.
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that I'd played and beaten IWBTG before LP'ing it. I knew where most of the cheap deaths occurred, and avoided most of them as well. I'd say at least 80% of the death montages occurred in places that were just plain difficult; I rarely fell for a cheap trick twice.
This game is shorter, but the difficulty is about to ramp up to an insane degree. Without spoiling too much, there's a section after rescuing the final crew member that's on par with any of the troublesome sections of IWBTG. I don't think I'll get quite to the level of insane fury I was at the end of IWBTG, but swearing is coming back to me. Old habits (and little pixellated men) die hard, it seems.

Positive Force
Oh man I thought I was the only one with this opinion
I mean it sucks dying in the Gravitron, but the music is so good it's kind of worth it
Also a minor correction: dying in the Gravitron doesn't add time onto your remainder, it resets to the last five second interval you passed
I know. I kind of wish it did, or at least had the option to, because for all my bitching it's still kind of fun.
I die to serve
Fairly fitting for a workday, I might add. You say thing things that I cannot. :^:
PC PS3 PS2 DS PSP.
But they are asking for it, the little hussies
Wearin' those short skirts and low-cut tops
I can see why some people just can't walk away from this game. The music and the challenge that verges on the impossible, but is still achievable.

Yep If anyone knows how to fight them, or at least who to ask for my videos back from, I'm all ears

What part of the game did the demo cover? If I remember right it doesn't include Veni Vedi Vici or several other ridiculously difficult screens.
Not that that should discourage you from buying this game at all!
