I could see using the The Wrangler with the mini-sentry. You already have something that can't be repaired so you can get a longer lifespan out of it with the shield, and it gets the increased firepower to bring it back to the level of your normal level 1 sentry. While I think I'll prefer punching people in the face, this seems like a fun way to fuck with people once we have an idea of how The Wrangler works.
If you can move around with The Wrangler, use the sentry to distract them while you pop out and punch them in the face.

I'm a little confused then. Do you hit things with the gunslinger to upgrade or do you completely lose the ability to upgrade dispensers/teleporters etc

That's just silly, the same can be said about any class. He can ambush people or he can use the turret as a quick source of revenge crits for shotgun ownage.

Manual sentry and robot hand both replace pistol so the engy could really only have one of them. Though i still agree with you.
