This has always annoyed me, but cancelling a book, then restarting it and then changing the numbering back to the original, I don't like it. Especially when Marvel does weird numbers to get to Thor #600 and Hulk #600.
And in instances like all the Wolverine titles now, where they will inevitably combine them all together to get Wolverine to #400 while still continuing certain series.
It would only make sense to me if they did it when they were close to the anniversary of the character's creation or something, otherwise this also grinds my gears.
I wish all comics should go to the Hellboy/Atomic Robo model of only putting out mini-series. I think a lot of terrible comics get made because someone realizes that, "Oh shit, we totally need to put out an issue of Teen Titans this month! Uhh.. kill someone and make someone a traitor!"

"Mini-series" and "an issue every month" aren't mutually exclusive. You can just have mini-series that run back-to-back. "Man-Thing Kills the Marvel Universe" followed by "Man-Thing Saves the Marvel Universe" followed by "Man-Thing's Day at the Beach" followed by "Man-Thing and Punisher: Buddies-in-Arms".
I just finished Gail Simone's first run on Birds of Prey. I thoroughly enjoyed it; great character development and interesting plotting. The Birds of Prey vs Secret Six was an excellent capper for the series.
And I liked Misfit. Best catchphrase ever: "DARK VENGEANCE!"
Are the Birds of Prey books in between her first and second run of Birds of Prey any good? Do I need to read them in preparation for Gail Simone's second run on Birds of Prey?

I honestly don't remember Tony Bedard's run but his Black Canary mini was decent (collected in
GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY: ROAD TO THE ALTAR) and it's where you find out what happens with Sin

Which writer was it (Bedard or McKeever) where the Birds are in Metropolis and cause an explosion or something and Superman chews them out? I can't remember if it was superdickery or if the Birds were just complete idiots on their mission.
I think that would've been McKeever since they all moved to that Silicon Valley city McKeever created afterwards. McKeever's run on BoP was pretty bad and while Bedard's was better, I still wouldn't have called it great. I quite liked his Black Canary mini though, especially considering how shit Winick and Kreisberg wrote her afterwards.

I'm glad I didn't pick it up. Kind of sad that in regards to Dini's titles you can't just assume "oh hey, there's a story in here by the guy on the cover, it makes perfect sense"
He doesn't even have a slight odour problem afterwards or anything, just uses the Nova force then flips the switch back off after handling it effortlessly.

In ASM there was a page or two where Spider-Man talks to a male nurse who is Tom Brevoort and tells him to watch over May, and it's just one of those really annoying creator shows up in the comic type thing (like Jenkins showing up in New Avengers with the Sentry).
And as far as the solution Quesada seems to be doing to the whole Spider-Marriage, it's really something that doesn't stand out enough to warrant a three year delay between it and OMD.
GLC is good still but it feels like theyre doing an Iron Man at the minute, stretching the story out very, very far like they're waiting for something to happen in another issue.

that's different!
But yeah, you'd sooner expect Ross to start his own awesome, Suicide Squad-style team.

Yeah, we wouldn't want Red Hulk to appear derivative.

The entire issue is the Two-Face story.
I am pretty upset at this.
No House of Hush at all?
Incredible.
I am glad I jumped off that trainwreck of a book.
