I dunno, it's a fitting punishment. He's stuck as the thing he hates. That's where his obsession has brought him.

Yeah but it inflicts Rulk on us. Is that a fitting punishment?

And as someone said, that last panel with the grin and dialogue makes it seem like the experience hasn't changed him all that much, he still seems smug about it all.

I really want Rulk to grow a moustache.

Imagine Rulk with a big ol' handlebar. That alone would make him 5x better than he currently is.

So 25 issues into his Avengers run, if he still sucks, will you still be yammering on about his redemption?

Rulk blows and the MU is better off without him.

MU needs more Nova, Trauma, Cloud 9 and the GOOD new characters.

    ANd Ghost.

Ghost? Ghost was redeemed. He used to be a sucky Iron Man Villain, how he rocks the socks off.

I actually liked 24, when read on it's own. The only bad part WITHIN the issue was the Betty/She-Hulk fight. Sure, if read with Incredible Hulk it clashes with how the Hulk is right now. But as an issue it's highly entertaining, and honestly, it kind of endeared Red Hulk/Ross to me in his new context.

Does anyone have the footage of the non-reaction to the announcement of Rulk joining the Avengers? I need to see it.

And Diablo you need to cut that out now, your opinion has been made and its pretty ignorant.

CBR people determine Barbara getting shot is the most memorable DC moment

I'm the goshdarn Batman didn't even place. Batman punching Guy was #9

(I thought the Death of Superman or Barry sacrificing his life in COIE would have been #1).

Barry, yeah. That's one of those things where my friends who don't read comics much and I showed them that issue said "That's fucking metal." Or some such variation.

Barbara getting shot? Really? Jason getting killed would make a better choice than that. Supergirl killed by the Anti-Monitor even.

Their entire reasoning is that the shocking nature of it left an imprint on DC. You know what did that and did it bigger? (not better, but damn did it leave a crater)

Really (and honestly this is the last thing I want to say about this character), the best thing they could have done with Rulk is shelved him for about 7 years, so that people could forget about him and the character could be refurbished with a new purpose not related to banner or his rogue gallery.

Hmm... apparently there will be a Hulk tie-in for Chaos War.

While I'm not a fan of tie-ins to events in general, I do like it when Pak writes Hulk...

I hope this comes out in the same manner as the rest of Cosmic Marvel (e.g. nice hardcover collecting everything).

New ground? He's supposedly going to be fighting a "ressurected villain". Which will probably be the Abomination, seeing as he's been killed twice lately by Hulks.

While Banner and the Hulk did have a handful of friends, they felt like no one could truly understand what it meant to be them. Recently, that assumption has been proven wrong as several individuals that struggle with feelings of intense rage and massive, gamma enhanced super strength have emerged. For better or worse, the Hulk - and the Marvel Universe -now has a family that includes Skaar, the teenage son of the Hulk and the alien warrior woman Caiera, who grew up on the apocalyptic planet of Sakaar; Banner's cousin Jennifer Walters who is widely known as the Sensational She-Hulk; The Savage She-Hulk is Lyra, the daughter of the Hulk and Thundra, a warrior woman from an alternate future; and the Red She-Hulk, who was recently revealed to be Bruce Banner's wife Betty Banner who the world thought was long dead.

What we have here, is a new ground for Hulk: patriarch, one which I think the green scar is incredibly well suited for.

We know Betty will be depowered because Banner ends up impregnating She Hulk to create that clan of freaks for Old Man Logan. The one true future of the MU.

We've all been there. You're gamma-irradiated, your penis is the size of a small family-saloon and you just watched Girls Gone Wild: Sakaar Edition and your cousin is the only being capable of not exploding if you get it on.

Its a story as old as time itself.

EDIT: And she doesn't appear so considering how bleak the rest of the story is, its likely he forced himself upon her and then killed her later.

Wait, I never finsihed Old Man Logan, but does the Hulk basically rape She-Hulk?

I dont think he mentions it, its something Logan says and its fairly obvious since theres noone else he could create Hulk babies with and thats why they're largely inbred and messed up.

Then you have the pale ones which I think are his children getting it on with humans.

    EDIT:
Logan needs money to pay rent to the landlords of this territory: the hillbilly grandchildren of the Hulk, who are products of years of incestuous procreation originating with Banner and his first cousin She-Hulk.

I didn't care for Old Man Logan. It was like a less mean-spirited Ruins mixed with elements of The Dark Knight Returns. Logan's motivation, his family, are barely a presence outside of the beginning and conclusion, Logan's interaction with his primary antagonists is limited (and, in the case of Red Skull, doesn't have a strong enough personal element), and Logan's character arc can be summed up as, "He said he'd never pop his claws again... until he did."

Lets be honest: Joe Q had to be involved in the creation of red hulk if only in the act of green lighting this shit. The fact that it may have been his idea doesn't make me hate him any more, since I pretty much associate him with terrible story lines.

I think I liked the overall ideas of the setting, but didn't like the execution and a lot of the specifics (things like inbred-Hulks and Spider-Bitch do not sit well with me). If we can think of a setting as a character, perhaps we can apply TLB's Maxim, "Any character can be redeemed by a good writer". I think the Old Man Logan setting can play host to some cool stories, provided it's scoured of the more ridiculous and intellectually-insulting Millarisms.

Also, I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you now, Robos. Reading OML made me deathly allergic to the phrase "[pop/popped] [my/his] claws", because it was repeated like five times every issue. And, when I say "deathly allergic", I don't mean that I die when I hear it.

Oh yeah, as far as horrible futures go, I'd say it has more potential than something like Days of the Future Past. Unlike that story, you've still got more than a handful of living characters and a semi-functional society for them to operate in, so there's plenty to work with.
