I never, ever get tired of seeing that Street Fighter video.
I haven't played Street Fighter in years, so I don't totally get it. Well I guess I do get it but I suppose I don't see why it was worth that sort of reaction.

Now, I've never played SF3 and am not as big a fighting game fan as others on the board, but I've always heard it goes like this:
Ken was at such low health that even blocking a hit would kill him. The only way to block without getting hurt was to block but then press into the attack with perfect timing. So if you fail you walk right into the attack. He then proceeded to block every single hit of Chun-Li's super combo, and then counter with his own and win (I believe) the whole tournament.
Ah you cock, you beat me to the best video in gaming history. I might go fish up some other great Promode frag videos, though!
It really is a beautiful thing.
There will probably never be a game that matches the visceral thrills Quake 3 offered, but the Get Quaked series does a good job of capturing the moments that make playing so memorable.

GetQuaked is the reason I have several thousand frags in QuakeLive and my gaming ego got destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up in Promode.
I played games for 14 years, but I didn't realize just how bad I was until I played Promode. That game turned me into a murdering machine when I was playing it regularly. For every frag I'd get in promode, it would synergize into 5 in another game.
I really enjoy the fighting game videos. I don't play them, so I don't really know whats going on (especially when its in another language) but I love how the crowd gets more and more excited as it goes on.

Few gaming highs can compare to when you know you're in the zone and playing right at your peak. You just can't replicate the feelings you get from a really good quad run, or a when you're lging over 40%, or when you hit those midair rls and gls. Just getting your movement to a passable level will make you feel amazing. Yeah, those were good times. If I had a working mouse and a decent connection I would be all over it still.
I've played a bunch of competitive games at competitive levels. None of them were ever like that.
This happened just two days ago
The video is made by nealcm from these forums (known as Mitchell from Maintenance on Steam). I'm the heavy that kills him.
One thing I'd like to point out about this video is that the guy is preserving his killchain. So, not only does he need to have the precision to control two ships, he's also got to have the entire level memorized. Also, that's only the first level.
I've never played WoW. Could someone maybe say some things that make that video a bit clearer? Basically all I've got right now is, "some guy did something dumb(?) and another guy took it way too seriously". Oh, and DoTs. I know what those are.

That's a candy, right? I used to eat those when I was a kid.
Does this mean it's safe to go on YouTube now? In case none of you knew, there was some kind of exploit found through the use of comments which led to virii, redirects, etc. found a day or so ago. It was nuts. As soon as I hear it's safe, I will gladly add to this thread.

That's really all it is. I can break it down even further though. It's been years since I did that fight but I'll try to see if I can remember. I can't believe I'm about to write all this out.
Onyxia is an encounter where you fight a dragon. You have to be on the sides of her to avoid her tail and fire breath. Then dragon whelps can possibly come in during the fight if dragon eggs on the sides of the room are touched and broken. Then you have to manage them lest they just start bothering and killing your raid.
The damage dealing classes have to start off slow, so they don't overtake the one taking the damage in threat and have the dragon suddenly turn toward half the raid and breathe fire on everyone. He's saying that if you do this, he'll remove 50 DKP from you. Which is a point system used to determine how guilds divide up item drops after a fight is won.
If the tail hits you, it'll toss you into the whelp eggs. Lots of little dragons to fuck up your raid. So you have to watch it.
"There is no aggro reset." = In some WoW fights, an enemy might suddenly 'forget' who it is most angry at and go toward the first person to do damage. He's saying this doesn't happen here (but it actually does during flight stage. Maybe he just meant in phase 1.) He then says you can start doing damage after 2 sunders. Sunder armor is an ability a warrior has to reduce the armor on an enemy. It's something that generates a lot of threat and helps keep the target on him.
Nuke it, dot (damage over time spells) it. Self explanatory.
In Phase 2 Onyxia flies into the air. Melee attacks cannot hit her but spellcasters can still hit her. You want to damage her as much as possible so she lands as quick as possible (at 40% health). While in the air she'll do a very damaging breath attack.
Apparently during phase 3 someone breaks a bunch of eggs and brings the whelps to the raid and kills everyone.
tl;dr = Some guy breaks a bunch of eggs during a dragon fight that spawns little dragons and it killed the raid.

I remember this one from the early days of the JC2 thread. It's one of my favorites, the music just goes so well.

Onyxia Wipe
Ahh, the good old days of WoW raiding.
Who goes to all that effort to hack six ubers and doesn't think to put a single first hit move on any of them?

Here's level 5:

I can't even begin to comprehend who would voluntarily play like that. Why on earth would you want to put up with that guy?
edit: Holy shit that ikaruga guy is phenomenal.
It's fake or, at least, exaggerated intentionally. That said I've seen some people who get pretty upset after WoW raid wipes.
 ...I have trouble getting past the 2nd level without infinite lives. Good god.
That may be fake, but it's not far off from how some hardcore raiding guilds operate.
That's a candy, right? I used to eat those when I was a kid.
I WILL NOT BE DOING 3DS FOR NWC THREAD. SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO TAKE OVER.
