Question about inFAMOUS...

So I picked this up on PSN and I'm loving it so far. I'm trying to do all these little sidequests in the city.

Anyway, I'd rather not refer to any hints or a guide or anything, but I'd like to know one thing. Without spoilering, can anyone tell me if sidequests are at all time sensitive? Meaning...do some of them only show up at a later point in the game?

I still have three red areas in the Neon sector around the first and second substations (I'm still fairly early into the game) but I never found any icon, or even any person offering a subquest.

And yes I know that in some sectors you have to
Attack a reaper and then you'll get a vision which starts the sidequest for that area.

I already did all of those as far as I know.

So if they are triggerable now, please don't tell me how - I'd like to figure that out on my own - but should I have access to ALL the sidequests for a substation area once that substation is powered up? Or do I need to come back to some of them later?

There are a few that will only appear after a certain time. The side-quests will pop up on the map once they are available. There are no sidequests besides the hidden package ones that aren't marked. There's nothing to do to "trigger" the appearance of the side-quests besides going through the story.

Okay thanks. I was mainly wondering because I found some glitchiness (at least I think it was glitchiness) in the upper left part of Neon last night. I opened up my map and I saw three sidequests laid out in a rough triangular pattern. When I started to approach one, the icon disappeared. In fact, I was looking at the questgiver and there was no icon (for that specific questgiver) on my map (when I hit select).

But anyway, thanks for the info, I'll just keep on truckin'. :)

When the quest is available it's able to be run. Certain conditions must be met for them to appear on the map, however.

Nothing horrifically bad in the spoiler, just an explaination of what causes them to appear on the map.
Satellite uplink missions allows mission givers to upload their locations to the map. So complete the uplink missions and all the other available missions in the area will appear on your map.

Gotcha. Thanks. I think Moya explains that too, I forgot.

and, so you don't get super frustrated if you are a completionist:
You will not get a 100% complete map until after you finish the game. Even after you do all the sidequests, there will be one little spot that is not lit up until after the game is beaten

She does, but I know during my first playthrough I thought it was just an excuse to run the sidemission, I didn't realize it actually did anything. I didn't notice until the second time I started playing through the game.
