As title. When trying to focus on an idea or topic, my mind wanders
everywhere unless I'm pacing around the room. Or doing something elaborate with my hands. And, yes, I have to be walking around - I once tried an exercise bike for a few weeks and the effect just wasn't the same.
This isn't new, I just used to cope by taking a pen, paper, and some notes with me. But this isn't tenable with two books, five browser tabs, and multiple Word documents to reference at the same time.
Google suggests all these "olololol ADHD" results but I'd rather leave that as a last resort, and I'm leery of self-diagnosis anyway;
Forer effect abounds. Any suggestions, H/A?

Depending on the size of the set you pick (insert joke here), they can be easy or difficult, and most come with a set of various "moves" to practice, some more complicated than others. It can actually be harder than it looks, especially if you try to train the hand you're not dominant with so you can be doing something with the other, and I find they actually help me relax when I'm trying to write/work through a difficult problem.
DoraB's suggestion is a good one. You could also take up juggling or yo-yo.

I might have to just scribble more on paper, then I can carry that with me while going for a walk.
