So here's the deal. I've got a Epson Stylus 1400 at work that I use to print all of my sublimation work. This morning I was printing a few jobs when all of a sudden it just stopped mid-print.
I can't get the printer to cancel the job or even release the paper without turning off the printer. It prints simple black & white text with no issue from CorelDraw, but anything graphic-heavy it just stalls on.
For what it's worth, the Epson C88 right next to it has the same issue, so it must been a spooling issue. Any ideas, folks?
1. Go into properties for the printer, check to see if "advanced printing features" is checked/unchecked. Whatever it is, do the opposite.
2. Check under the spooling section, is it set to print directly to the printer? Try spooling the job first, then printing, or having it print while spooling.
3. Reinstall the printer
4. reinstall with different drivers, are you using PCL6? Try post-script of they have them.
Also, in coreldraw there may be odd options the fuck with the printer, not sure which, but I've seen it happen.
You can also try printing samples of other stuff NOT in coreldraw, like a picture or PDF that has color in it.

I can cross off some of these.
I tried printing directly to printer. Same issue.
Tried with advanced printing features turned off. Same issue.
Reinstalled using drivers from Epson's site. Twice. Both the "Full Package" and then the driver by itself. Same issue.
I tried printing both a rasterized JPEG and a PDF of the document I was trying print. Same issue.

Well, again: were the printers working fine before your latest attempt? When you sent your last job to the Epson, it "failed." Then you tried the other printer. It "failed" too, right? I suspect it may be your document, really.
So I'd try power-cycling the printers, as well as your PC. Then see if you can print a test page. If your test page prints, I don't think it can be your drivers.

I've done that multiple times.
It seems to be random. If I print a 6-page document that's black & White it'll print the first page completely and then about half of the second page.
If I print something with just a color logo and otherwise black text it'll print maybe a third of the page before stopping.
Sometimes it'll stop printing on the first page, sometimes on the second page.
Any other recent driver updates to your machine? Maybe try a new USB port?
Hmm. No recent driver updates other than what Windows has done, but I don't Windows has updated in over a week, and this has only been two days (including today) worth of issue.
I'll swap USB ports later, to see if it helps, but I actually have a smaller printer, a C120, that's exhibiting the same issue.

Technology has come light years from the time when they first created printers, and we're still having the same stupid and fucking retarded problems.
My only suggestion is hammer.
You're full of good advice in this forum, aren't you?
Zero: Did this JUST start today? Or was it one particular job that gummed-up both printers?
PC Load Letter?

Any generic drivers you recommend I try?
