Yeah. It is. There will be other CD swaps, so I'd play this conservative.

Or not. Shit man, there's a lot of great music out there.

I'm going to take some music I like and burn it to a CD. Then I will drop it in a padded envelope and mail it. It's not up to me if my CD swap buddy like it. The best I can do is share.

So uh... what kind of CD should I make? That's the question... Rock? Electronic? Soundtrack/Classic? Maybe just a themed CD?

I'm just gonna put my favorite songs from different artists onto it.

They'll get one or two from my top five, and then I'll kind of randomly fill the rest of the CD with songs from other bands I like.

My cd will sadly not be 100% k-pop.

Someone is getting at least one MC Mong song, and one song by Drunken Tiger though.

    That raises an interesting point.

Would it be a bad thing if I made....two CDs?

easier to give music than receive it, I feel. my instinct is to go for the very best on one cd.

As someone who used to do CD swaps on a regular basis, I have a hard time not working hard on mine, which means I end up staying up on work nights making sure the songs flow well into each other.

Not that they actually flow well, it just has to seem that way to me.

I wish I was able to just stick some songs on a CD and be done with it, but I just can't do it.

I am nervous about this. Think I'll be making it tomorrow morning so I can send it when I'm in town. I feel bad about subjecting someone to my terrible taste in music.

    Oh well....

Yeah... I'm kinda the same. I'm also wondering if I should bust out the recording equipment and do it like my old radio station.

Quick question Joker, when you sent out the addresses, did the same people get each others' addresses or is it like a round robin? For example, Person A trades with Person B and vice versa, or Person A trades with B who trades with C who then sends a disc to D who in turn blesses E with some new music, etc...

I didn't feel the need to make it like a secret santa, so whoevers address you got should be who got your address.

I've got a selection of songs now... Of course I couldn't include everything I'd wanted to, and some of the songs culled surprised even me... but I think I've got it pared down to the length of a single CD. Given it a cursory listen and everything seems to flow well enough - there are a couple transitions that are more abrupt than others, but it still feels like it fits, overall.

Now to double-check the length of the CD-R to see if I can't maybe squeeze one more tune on at the end.

In any case, I'm going for a more cohesive feeling disc, which simply has songs that I enjoy a lot and find (pleasantly) stuck in my head sometimes. No more than one song per artist.

Yeah, this is gonna be tough for me. I'm a firm believer in the idea of an album working together, piece to piece. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at accomplishing it. Previously, all my mixes had been video game music, which is much easier to tell a story with. Hopefully I can get something workable going.

    ATTENTION PARTY PEOPLES!

A lot of you didnt give me your names and as such, your mix cd buddy has been PMing me saying "WHERES THE NAMES?"

You shouldn't HAVE to have a name to ship it, but if you want it for peace of mind, then feel free to PM your mix buddy.

None, unfortunately. My CD was mostly rock themed.

Maybe my next one can be my K-Pop/J-Pop/Anime Theme CD.

I'd figure I'd go with a Mr. M. C. Ocks. as my addressee

I'll try and ship it off tomorrow. Though no Radio Mix (where I add in my voice like a DJ), I'll just stick the reasons why I picked my songs in the liner notes.
