Playing your cards right is making sure your RJ lands just behind them, and knowing that you've got a good chance of killing them (this is true of most non-tank heroes, but a few can make things go badly wrong - Ezrael, Katarina, Fiddle).
21 offence refers to your Masteries.
There's a talent in the offence tree that gives 4 extra damage to minions/monsters; it's great for Tristana because it allows easier farming and more harassment via Explosive Shot blasts.
CDR is cooldown reduction; there's a talent in the offence tree that you normally sink 3 points into just to get 21 points.
Those three are ultimates that require the user not to move. Death Lotus is Katarina's (throws daggers at 1-3 nearby targets; interrupted if she moves, so use Buster). Absolute Zero is NuNu's (slows enemies, deals damage dependent on how long it's channeled for when broken to those still inside the radius; interrupted if he moves, so use Buster). Crowstorm is Fiddle's (deals high damage to those in a radius around him; blast him away from your team to minimise that damage).
A peel is when you "peel" someone who's attacking one of your teammates off them, either through damage or some other means. So for example, if Pantheon has just jumped on your Soraka, you can peel him off by hitting him with Buster Shot, pushing him away. Or, similarly, putting a lot of damage on him so he has to retreat and can't attack Soraka any more.
Executioner's calling is a lifesteal item with an Active that reduces healing by 50% for 8(?) seconds.

So i think i need to find a new champion to use, so far i have used Nasus 12 games, 5-7 record, 52 kills, 126 deaths, 57 assists. I like the way he plays but he seems to lose badly to most other melee champions (namely warwick, yi, panth, and garen).

how do you play cards right and how do you get 21 offense? what are 2 points in minion damage and what's CDR?
what's death lotus/abs zero/crowstorm? what's a peel?
what's executioner's calling? an item?
Alright let's see how it goes.
21 offense: masteries. Beth ignores that you're not lvl30 so just put shit in your offense mastery when you get points.
Death Lotus, Absolute Zero, Crowstorm: In order, Katarina's ,Nunu's and Fiddlesticks' ultimates (your R skill). All of them pain in the butt.
Exe: Item whose property is to prevent healing. Still very useless because you have explosive shot already, and your itwems slots are better used for better items
EDIT: To clarify on Exe. Calling., you got Explosive shot which gimp healing, you got the ignite summoner skill which gimp healing, and you got said item which gimp healing. Having all three at once is not good, it's overkill of the highest caliber, not to mention 90% of the time you won't use ignite for its gimping healing use but for the dot.

so i just rocket jump behind them and it's an auto win is what I'm hearing. just use it then stand still
Q: Are there any other caps that I should know about?
A: Attack speed is capped at 2.5 attacks a second.
Some of that FAQ is outdated, mostly stuff about parley and armor pen/magic pen stuff, but for the most part there is good info there.
Kedinik probably misread the information about movement speed, which is softcapped like that. Past 450 (?) move speed, your additional movespeed is divided by 2 and added to 450 to get the real movespeed. Relevant for ghostwalk, Rammus, and other superspeed movers.

Oddly enough, it's not that bad. The dot stacks nicely with your attack speed, there's some crit, high life steal, and being able to have three people take reduced healing in a teamfight is incredible if you're against Soraka. Since with Tristana your item priorities are damage > life steal = crit > armour pen, it's actually pretty good.

Use Rocket Jump to get behind them if your enemy is running away. Never rocket jump to hit a melee champion who is ready to fight you, and never rocket jump into a group of enemies to initiate.

Yes, both of those are good (I even recommended IE).
But consider this. Exe Calling costs 1600, almost as much as a BF Sword. It deals 32 damage per hit over time (not as great as 50 per hit immediately, but nothing to sniff at), 18% life steal, and 15% crit, as well as having an active that screws healers even more. It's a superb mid-game item, well worth getting after IE just to get the crit boost (since ideally, you want to be sitting on about 30% crit), even if you're not using the active. With the active and ES and Ignite, you can keep Soraka out of a fight for around 28 seconds (ES -> Exe -> Ignite -> ES). If you don't realise how useful that is in high-end play, I don't know what to tell you.

It would help. Also, remember that tanks can usually escape on their own, but are very team oriented. The general idea is that a tank and 1 dps is stronger than 2 dps (very broadly, etc)

By endgame you are unstoppable with 4k+ hp 300 armor and doing ~400dps aoe by passive alone.
It is funny as hell to play but wow that passive needs to be unique.

Exaggerating quite a bit. She won't be anywhere close to out of the fight, just lessened against a single target, or multiples if you want to use concurrent cooldowns. This is part of the problem with heal comps -- executioner's has long since failed to be a successful suppressor of heavy healing.

I recommend against several of those items, personally. Mercury Treads are better boots, or sometimes Ninja Tabi. Also, most people generally recommend against the Tiamat because it is pretty expensive for what it does. I would suggest covering mana regen with a Chalice of Harmony, and health regen with one of a few items, such as Randuin's Omen*.
* This helps a lot against other melee because it slows their attacks and moves if they hit you, as well as providing a good amount of health, HP regen, and armor. The Heart of Gold that is part of the recipe also gives you a little extra cash as well.

I'll have to look into some of these items then. Truthfully being pretty new to the game I am running the build highest rated from Mobafire for Nasus, which is supposed to be a dps build. It does it's job for that for sure I haven't been lower than 3rd overall damage dealt even in the game where I died 16 times. (Late game I was being stalked by a warwick that pretty much face smashed me to death in seconds)
After playing this all day Saturday, I just bought the champions pack and have converted to heinerdinger. He's great for locking down opponents in a lane and slowly outleveling and out-earning them until you take take the towers.
Does anyone have a good build for him? I've been stacking AP and mana regen and just living with the slow run speed until late game.

So, Dorans items:
Shield/Ring: Pretty bomb. Great to have the 120 HP from any of the three, but being able to regen that HP or Mana on a caster is really useful.
Blade: Awful piece of crap. I'm honestly not sure when it is good. I've mirrored opposing Tris in the middle with me running Shield and them on Blade, and between the armor and constant regen, I can just push them out of range of being able to farm or leech off of creeps. I have heard that this item is good on Akali due to triggering her life-steal sooner or something? As Tris with Shield, I've done similiar things to Ashe with Blade and Teemo with Blade also, although he is a little tougher with dart to defend himself somewhat.
If I'm Tris against a phys carry in mid, I can usually grind out a level or so advantage on him by level six, plus a signifigant gold advantage, or I'll get a kill if they get ballsy and try to break my hold on the lane, putting me up on gold/level again.
Also, as Tris, I really like Ignite/Cleanse, but Exhaust is filthy too. Cleanse gives me the ability to beat opposing Exhausts, stuns and slows and gives me a little defense too.
I guess I could be wrong about blade, but I get a little thrill every time I see a phys ranged carry bringing a blade to mid.

There's a champion spotlight for Heimer thats a pretty good into. But essentially rushing Zhonia's Ring is nice, since it gives you damage and great survivability since you can just let your towers do the damage when you're invincible.

9/0/21 build or hell even 0/9/21 will work, clarity/ghost (you can replace clarity with something else if you don't have early game mana problems)
start off with a doran's ring and some pots, i prefer to level my skills in this priority q>r>w>e, yes, that's right, skipping ult for a bit to get level 5 turrets faster (grab one level of e if you push to their tower easily early)
take mid or die, heimer is one of the strongest mids in the game
you'll want to keep some pressure on them and the tower, but really you're just waiting to find a good time to tele back real quick around level 5 ish (meaning you have pushed to their tower and have some turrets down so your tower won't get pushed while you are gone)
pick up a second doran's ring and boots, also some pots
grab your side golem (if you have a jungler notify them that you will want blue a lot), and push mid tower in -- with blue buff you can nonstop cast your q and w, meaning a tower is dead once you walk into lane
keep repeating this in other lanes, win game
items to grab -- basically just go straight ap, meaning zhonya's, sorc shoes, void staff, picking up needlessly large rods, etc

Seems more like a funny/decent char than nearly as broken as even something like stacking the splash dmg item and backstabbing a creep with heros around. That's gimicky, but at least it works in a real fight too, and doesn't fold ot an elixir.

The days of 'Just one Executioners will do!' is over. Two to three people need to buy the weapon for it to be effective, and while it is expensive, any team that relies heavily on heals will be shut down by an organized team with these weapons. I've been running with a lot of heal comp teams lately, and it really ruins us. A kat or gangplank added onto this would only make it worse.
I've been using rockets a lot but tried a game where I focused on the grenade and with a little luck and some skill at aiming it usually frightens the opposing champ into backing off while I advance or forces them to recall. I'm terrible at chasing so I usually just slowly creep forward. I've been playing pickups so half the time, a good tank will hold off both teammates in one lane while I get stomped by two champs in mine.
Any tips for taking on two champs or at least holding them off by myself?

with two champs in lane, you must play the defensive -- always stay behind your creep line, focus on keeping a turret behind the creep line as well
if they do a switch like that early, i would take grenades instead of rockets -- the added safety net of a stun/blind makes getting away from ganks just that bit easier
also, in general, i feel taking rockets or nades early is really just a playstyle choice, i personally do much better with rockets early, but if you do better with nades, go for it
Blade: Awful piece of crap. I'm honestly not sure when it is good.
I use Doran's Blade in my Akali build for a few reasons:
The +6 damage is enough to activate my passive at level 1 with my runes and masteries
The +health is awesome for Akali, at level one I have more health than most tanks unless they get a health item. It helps her stay alive in the laning phase which IMO is the weakest phase for her until level 6.
The small lifesteal synergizes well with my built in spell vamp that I get from it.
I agree that it is the weakest of the Doran items, but it works well for Akali
Thanks for the reply been using your advice and doing better than I ever have with her. I might actually try TT with her for some quick wins, any TT specific advice?

Also, I'd like to explain how a jungling hero works, for the 1v2 lane. If you are the 1 vs two others, your only job is to LIVE!!!. You will get less gold (probably), but you will outlevel, and give your team two solo exp heros. Hug that tower, stay back, use nukes to farm etc. Now, lanes like the previously mentioned panth/taric hero happen, and that is a bad time, but aside from ridiculousness like that, you should grind it out and outlevel them.
Also, in 1v2, a lot of the time if you're ~ level 5, they'll start trying to tower dive you. Defend like mad and get that cheap kill. Mostly though, just LIVE please.

9/0/21 build or hell even 0/9/21 will work, clarity/ghost (you can replace clarity with something else if you don't have early game mana problems)
start off with a doran's ring and some pots, i prefer to level my skills in this priority q>r>w>e, yes, that's right, skipping ult for a bit to get level 5 turrets faster (grab one level of e if you push to their tower easily early)
take mid or die, heimer is one of the strongest mids in the game
you'll want to keep some pressure on them and the tower, but really you're just waiting to find a good time to tele back real quick around level 5 ish (meaning you have pushed to their tower and have some turrets down so your tower won't get pushed while you are gone)
pick up a second doran's ring and boots, also some pots
grab your side golem (if you have a jungler notify them that you will want blue a lot), and push mid tower in -- with blue buff you can nonstop cast your q and w, meaning a tower is dead once you walk into lane
keep repeating this in other lanes, win game
items to grab -- basically just go straight ap, meaning zhonya's, sorc shoes, void staff, picking up needlessly large rods, etc
woops
I won't play with anyone who stacks firecape on Shaco (I've had a firecape shaco on my team. Bad bad experience.) This is an absolutely terrible idea in organized play. Might be good in pub stomps, though.
no
"Was cursing, in broken english at his team, and at our team. made fun of dead family members and mentioned he had sex with a dog."
"Hope he dies tbh but a ban would do."

Also, in 1v2, a lot of the time if you're ~ level 5, they'll start trying to tower dive you. Defend like mad and get that cheap kill. Mostly though, just LIVE please.

just terrible.
I want people to take the time to figure out what it says so they go "oh!!!!" DUH!" and maybe remember. I know most of us probably realize this, but I get too many people online who do not and play aggro in the 1v2 slot.
