How big is the shipping box for an iPhone from Apple?

I am going to have to pre-sign for them to leave my iPhone since I will be at work.

My plan is to leave the garage door partially up and just note for them to slide it in as far as they can.

Obviously I would like to leave the door as closed as possible.

So the question is how tall is the box it comes in? This was ordered directly from Apple.

    The box mine came in was maybe 6-7 inches tall.
    definitely less than a foot.

    Can't you just have them deliver it when you're home?

    This depends on the carrier, but there should either be an option to schedule another delivery time or an option for you to pick it up at the depot/post office.

    I live in the far fringe of urban sprawl - we get one shot at package delivery and that's about it.
    Plus my commute time plus work hours combine together to make swinging by the package pick up point difficult at best.

    What sucks is this is the week my wife leaves town, she is usually home all day every day.

    The shipping box is just big enough for the retail package to fit snuggly. It will fit in most standard mailboxes (the kind hit with baseball bats in movies). I'd say it's 4"x3" or so.

    Alternate option: Call the carrier and try to get them to bring it to you at work - I get almost everything delivered to my work because I know there will always be someone to sign for it.

    either that or ask the carrier to simply hold your package at the FedEx/UPS station nearest you?

    the box is small enough that it can be pilfered easily.
