Invisible War isn't the greatest crime against gamers ever.
But it is very close.
It's a good game that merely has a limited scope compared to its predecessor.
It is not a good game, it's a very mediocre game pretending to be a good game. There is nothing about it that is 'good'. It has a shoddy item system, the levels were brutally dispatched into tiny chunks to fit the original Xbox's highly limited memory, it's story is atrocious, nothing you do has any consequences whatsoever, the AI is actually WORSE in many ways than the first game, it is full of bugs (some funny, some game breaking) and such forth.
It's just not a good game either. It's a terrible game when it's thought of as a sequel to the original, but it's not good even on its own merits.

P.S. Thanks a million for the link to Sarif Industries' website; just popped onto it there briefly (at work atm) - amazing marketing, I'll definitely give it a proper root through when I get home.

Wait...so this date is real.
The hell, why'd they push it back when it was supposedly almost done?
Not having sound at work makes this harder to find, but I believe this is the video I was looking for, that I hope has already been posted to death in this thread.

This date seems like it's as much about positioning as it is about polishing. (Aug)ust is probably the ideal release date for the game this year, given how stuffed the spring and fall are, and how terrible the month of July is for releasing anything other than movies.
I really hope they use that time and spend the cash to polish up the game further, rather than just letting the game sit "done" until august (like some other games *cough*alpha protocol*cough*).

I've got no problem with the game being pushed back to August 23rd, even if it's purely to get it farther away from other big releases. I'm behind whatever gives us the best chance of seeing the Deus Ex franchise become a real and proper series instead of this dicey business we've got now.
Oh Jesus Christ, watching JC go hopping from the boat over to his brother and then taking the mega leap from South Dock to North Dock was fucking hilarious! I just laughed out loud at work in my (VERY) quiet office. Oh, I hate when that happens...
The official press release has some new details for the Augmented Edition of Human Revolution. It seems like if you get that edition then you get all the benefits of both retailer specific pre-order bonuses so you don't have to order from Gamestop to get the extra mission.
DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION will have an Augmented Edition that boasts features such as the same exclusive mission as the Explosive Mission Pack, 10,000 extra credits to buy or upgrade weapons, plus a Huntsman Silverback Double–Barrel Shotgun, the SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle, the Linebacker G–87 multiple shot grenade launcher, and an Automatic Unlocking Device and the M–28 Utility Remote–Detonated Explosive Device (UR–DED).

This is a really good guide on how to get the graphical mods all set up and looking nice at once. Works for the base game, just ignore the stuff about the NMC directory.
I don't mean to start a tangent, but I'm playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for the first time. It's totally Deus Ex with Vampires. So, if anyone likes Deus Ex, I'll think they'll like Bloodlines.

Usually just get the normals but when I can get it from cheaper than the standard console version I think I can make an exception.

I've still got 5 months until the game, though, so I'm going to wait to get all the internal components.
I'll just leave that right there. Y'know, just in case some poor soul still ahasn't gotten the game yet. I mean, it is only £1.48. Less than a burger.
