That comic was meant for Soul Reaver 2

It was canceled for DC, came to PS2

Also cj, Inferno was going to follow the "best possible ending" of FE1 which is bullshit

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

It's probably already been mentioned, but when it comes to a "hang out with your buddies playing videogames and drinking Mt Dew until the sun comes up" experience, it's hard to beat Bushido Blade 2.

It's easy, you play Bushido Blade 1. Bushido Blade 1 is perfect, it did not need a sequel.

I liked it when I first played it, but when I saw some videos of it recently the game looks like a gigantic pain in the ass. There's a ton of backtracking you have to do for no reason. Oh you want in this temple? Well it's a laughing door, so you have to go aaaaaaall the way back to the forest about 10 screens away to eat a mushroom that will make you laugh. You laugh randomly though, so you're going to have to jump all the way back to the temple, as you can't stop in mid-air to laugh, and up to the door. Oh look, there's a crying door right next to it. Back to the forest you go!

it's true; upon replaying it recently i found that the nostalgia almost fell victim to archaic stuff like this. i mean, damn, it has lives.

on the other hand, the same could be said of [strike]all religions[/strike] a lot of old playstation games. damn you, rose-tinted glasses

I would love a remake of the Soul Reaver series on modern consoles. Shit, just leave them as is and stick them on a single disc, I'm sure they'd fit?

Also, whoever mentioned Bushido Blade 2 is doing it wrong. Very, very wrong.

awesome that someone compiled a list. I always want to see stuff like that in these threads haha.

anyway, I haven't looked at ps1 games in a while, where's a good place to buy some older stuff? ebay still the best way to go?

I got some decent rare titles a few years back and have been thinking of grabbing a few more sometime soon, now of course my list has grown but hey, that's part of the fun. of course rare is less important than A Good Game.

anyway, nothing to add that hasn't been said.

It's been a long time since I played VB, but I remember it being pretty fun. Probably slow-paced by today's standards, it's a turn based strategy game. Translation is par for the course Working Designs stuff, so expect it to read well and have a lot of jokes and occasional dated pop culture references. There are multiple endings, I only ever got around to playing to one of them.

Here's part of a LP that demonstrates some gameplay, with some annoying guy talking over it.
