I would totally dig a realistic sniper mission where you have to sit still for four hours until you get a good shot on your target. Four hours of actual game time doing nothing; it will have QTEs for shitting, pissing, drinking and eating. If you miss the shot, you have to start all over.
It would be like the FPS version of an endure race from Gran Turismo. All the way up to where you blow the shot, which is just like finishing second in the race because some asshole computer driver comes up from nowhere and passes you five feet before the finish line.
Then, just like the GT endurance races, I would never touch that mission again.

I want those things too. And the fact that you'd have to have larger maps and more players to actually have that come into play would be good as well.
That would royally screw us on matchmaking though, unless they completely re did the system.

How dare they try to incorporate new things into a game. It's unthinkable that perhaps by using mechanics from other genres, they may be able to improve the storytelling and provide a more enthralling experience.
EDIT: SCAT, I'm no expert in shootery, but the bullet drop in BC2 seems greatly exaggerated.
It's actually not too far off. Most rifle bullets reach point of aim after 200 yards after rising a bit coming out of the barrel then drop more and more rapidly per unit of distance as the projectile slows down. A .308, which the M24 is chambered for in BC2, drops roughly 60 inches below the original point of aim after 500 yards. It's much better than CoD's system of no bullet drop or travel time.
I don't have any problem with them adding new shit. I, personally, have no interest in playing a CoD RTS, is all.
Also, the rate of drop for a bullet doesn't change with speed, I'm pretty sure. Bullets don't generate lift, and are affected by gravity just like everything else. I mean, the rate of descent will increase over time, just because of the downward acceleration, but the bullet's speed has nothing to do with it.
EDIT: If you drop a bullet and fire one from a gun at the same height simultaneously, they will hit the ground at the same time.
Unit of time** not distance, my bad. I know about this "gravity" shit.
In other news, have you ever shot a .50 Rifle? Because it seems like it'd be awesome. The biggest gun I've ever shot was a Ruger .45. I think it was a .45, anyway. Watching Kari shoot the .50 on Mythbusters is the best thing I've seen in recent memory.

I have, actually. Was an AR-50, an AR-15 lower with a .50 BMG upper. Kicks like a fucking mule, even with the muzzle brake. You can tell you've got a fucking cannon though when it goes off.

Oh, and hey, there's a new infection going around. Gets rid of reload, kill streaks arrive instantly, and trying to reload teleports you to the nearest mounted gun. Glad to see that QA still has a strong track record.
I wouldn't mind playing a sniper game that forced me to take a poop. It will probably be the most bad ass poop though since it's BLACK OPS, but yea that'll be pretty awesome. Is this game only taking place in the cold war era? or can I expect some space aliens/marines time period?

so holy shit, I reading pg 79 now and it makes me feel like an asshole. I've not played more than 10 or so games in multiplayer halo that wasn't a bunch of stoned college guys playing on 1 TV. Man, tonight was weird. First game, I switch my killstreaks to predator, harrier, pave low because I figure, I'm much better at the game now. I go 21-2 on Afghan. Near the end of the game, I'm just hiding, looking for a gun because I have no ammo left at all. letting my pave low do all the work, right? I spot a gun. I run up to grab it, but as I go for it a guy with a spas lets off a shot. It goes right over my head, I grab the gun, it's a Scar-H with a heartbeat sensor and a noob tube. I switch to the tube, go prone and fire, hitting him right in the face for the game winning kill. He was so mad.
Second game, a 16-18 kid named "heavydutymarine" is acting like a 16-18 year old kid and calling everything and everyone gay. I told him, in my best lisp, that I was gay, to see how far he'd take it. After about 5 minutes, everyone else in the game has left and it's just me and his friend trying to make fun of me in every single way a pair of immature 16-18 year olds can think of. I know it shouldn't be funny, but given that I'm not actually gay and the fact that they obviously were it was. He sent me a voice message after the game:
"Okay, don't ever talk to me again, githert! Cause I have a girlfriend, and I've had sex with her, and she liked it so there! I'll report you but actually not, because reporting is gay!"
