Yep, it's that wet dream of gamers. Let's program.. Inside of a video game!

And it's all made possible by one AndroidData, though he is very rude so try not to annoy him too much. The game lets you program via ExCode ingame, and it's rather hard to explain since as of my knowledge it's never been done before. For instance, we've already started a 'internet' that lets us send and receive files. It really is cool, but you have to have enough patience to read 12 pages of ingame book on starting ExCode.

Either way, it's pretty fun-Sorry if this is a shit OP, but here is the links
Register, and then apply here with your BYOND key. - http://console.androiddata.net/index.php/topic,1871.0.html
If you don't have BYOND/A BYOND account, download the client and register a account. Virus-free, I swear. Just look at how many dumb anime games there are on their website! - http://www.byond.com/
Finally, once/if you get approved to test, play the game here - http://www.byond.com/games/AndroidData/console

So it's a virtual machine with an integrated IDE? It might be interesting to see how it was programmed, but it's hardly novel.

Especially considering that it was designed for BYOND, which I assume would make it a virtual machine within a virtual machine.

Well, it's very interesting to say the least. Once you get approved and get ingame and find a time AndroidData gets online and he builds you a lab, it's pretty fun. Right now I'm trying to figure out the correct way to code a boot disk.

BYOND says the game is in closed testing. I can see you playing it right now, why did you link this in the first place?

To apply on their forums, like I said in the OP, to apply to be a closed tester. Or at least, console's forums.
Really, it's easy. Just say 'I'd like to apply, my BYOND key is X'. It worked for me at least.

Your SA thread was not informative either, which got gassed and got you banned apparently for raid inciting which was actually advertising in disguise or something?

Feel free to make an OP that is a bit more informative on the game though, or at least link something that tells us something about the game.

I wasn't trying to incite raiding, or advertising in disguise. I already sent in an appeal.

I can't really tell you much because, well, it's practically impossible. Theres no real way because screenshots won't do it much 'justice' and theres no wiki or anything that'll tell you about the game much.

Jesus dude, this isn't hard. Just tell us, what can you do in this game and how do you do it? Tell us a story how you discovered it was awesome. Is that 'ingame book' online somewhere?

Well there's a lot of things you can do-You can't kill people yet, but for instance you can code a door login system, a network, email, UI's, etc. I discovered it was awesome mainly by the file sharing and the fact it's easy coding, as well as the ability to make packet sniffers, etc. It's basically Uplink on steroids.

Sounds interesting enough. So you do have some kind of 'physical presence' inside the game besides your console? Can you wire up things in the physical space and make security systems? How does it compare to Space station 13? A screenshot should really help here.

Yea you do have a physical presence, and you can do lots of wiring. No security systems yet, though.
