    My favorite part of listening to the super-sekrit deployment of the 1-2j station, was forgetting the illegal in amarr space material that necessitated a very vulnerable station egg being guarded by titans and so on for 24 hours. Tell that part uncle Z.

    anyways i know why merch had a schism, it was mostly from an aggressive director I had chosen named MagnumOpus, he was kind of a hardass to some people, but was still a good guy, anyways one of my strongest beliefs in eve was to help your fellow corpmate, that generally meant to me to not make a fuckton of money off them. Unfortunately DeadonArrival wanted to make money this way and we didn't appreciate it. Throw in some corp drama here and there and people taking certain sides, CardboardSword42, DeadOnArrival and Cronyx splintered from The Merch with a few other members who did not appreciate the directorate's asshattery left and formed Fleshreaper Inc. At that point it was somewhat of a cold war where cronyx and other members of fleshreaper paid people to do their dirty work to us, while we did stupid shit like blow up their hauler's and freak out we cost someone 2m isk. Eventually it turned into a war and fleshreaper recruited several experienced pilots in scary ships while all we had were cruisers at most. We were made to look like that bad guys so the local anti-pirate corp told us we had to leave or we would be war decced by them as well, we retreated with our tails between our legs and grew up to be a pretty badass pirate corp shortly after

    Well, someone gave me twenty million credits. I appreciate the generosity, but until I know for sure whether I'll be playing this long-term I think I'd better give it back. How do I figure out who gave me something? There doesn't seem to be a contextual menu for the entries in my wallet.

    That's how much time I've spent in Empire. I've actually developed a fear of empire space because I really don't understand the mechanics. I've figured out that what you do is slowly take over a corporation and that way you can make your minions do your stuff that way you just lean back and spin in the station.

    So, let's say, hypothetically, that I wanted to get back into this game. By get back into, I mean try playing again, because I had no idea what I was doing the first time.

    So, just how hard is it to learn? Any recommendations on which faction to start out as? Though, as I understand it, faction only dictates what skills you start with, and what your avatar looks like, right?

    If I remember correctly, the server shut down when he was 32KM from the egg, and when he logged in real quic kto try and put it in , he was out of reach.

    I took the day off, stayed up for 23 hours straight stressed and unable to sleep about it. I think Salvadore worked from home that day too. It was the most isk we'd ever spent as a group. all from donations from members. about 25B in isk.

    Good times. I still laugh reading that chat log.

    Other than what you look like, they don't do anything anymore. I guess you get the racial frigate skill is what's different for what you want. It's been so long since I've created a character I don't remember.

    Yeah; that was the longest 32km I've ever experienced in EVE.
    When I logged back in and tried to get to the egg, the server dropped for good before I got close enough.

    Yea, I think that maybe the only time I ever took off work for spaceships. I remember logging on and people just laughing at me.

    Faction only determines what frigate skills and turret skills you start with, and training another race's faction skills takes less than a day iirc.

    EVE would be damn near impossible to learn on your own I think, but having the goonwiki and being able ask people things in chat makes it way easier. Also join up now and I believe there's a Merch newb training op tomorrow.

    I made an account on the Merch forums, but I can't see shit. I suppose I have to wait for some kind of administrative approval.

    Until then, what should I be doing? I've just been going around and doing tutorial missions; I finished both combat tutorials and haven't lost my ship yet (although I almost did at the end of the first tutorial when that tower grappled me and I didn't know what was going on).

    I got a destroyer, too. I'm not sure if I should be flying that (a Cormorant) or my Merlin. Also, what should I do with the 20 million ISK I was given? Right now I'm just sitting on it; I can't fly any of the bigger ships anyway.

    If you have goonwiki access you can find the 30-day skill plan, you should buy and inject as many of those skills as you can before leaving Empire since the books are often more expensive in 0.0.

    About the merch forums: you need to evemail either Sonelon or Courthouse and ask for forums access. I'm not actually sure which one you're supposed to mail.

    Thanks for posting that again Z. One of my favorite times beside the battle to take J-L. Wreckage strewn for over 1000 km if I remember. This game can be so good. I need more vijeah game time to play it.

    my favorite one I can't find the image of, but was when we beat back the combined -a- and ROL fleets in VNG on thanksgiving day 2008. Back when they tried to spam us to death with towers before we killed BoB and just abandoned Feyth. Back when a 1200 fleet fight actually worked for a bit of time before Dominion came out and ruined it again.

    Just like J-L though, a string of wrecks 100km long. Next door to our house.

    It's pretty awesome, when you make that jump into the enemy everything freezes and then you just minimize Eve and go play something else for a couple hours until finally at some nebulous point in the future when you're back in station with your new clone.

    How much would a Raven and a fit cost in 0.0? All I have is a drake and 80 mil right now. Id rather PvP though but probably would need to find a decent way to make money first? Im in the euro timezone so would there always be a gang or something on in the alliance whenever I log on?

    I've finally succumbed to EVE's lure and re-subbed. I'd only played for maybe two months last time before getting station camped in E-PROS. I lasted about a week before that got really dull. Now that things are different, I thought I'd give it another go.
    I forgot my username and password for my last account so I made a new [strike]spy[/strike] character named "Forkstab" and I'll put in my application shortly.

    In relation to people in Euro or Australia time: there are squads within Goonswarm for those timezones. GSG9 is the euro TZ one and Moon Time is for Australia/New Zealand.
