Well, comparisons are understandable, but I just KNOW there are going to be face-palming comments like "they stole the idea from Left 4 dead." Less likely on these forums, but I read a lot of forums.
To anyone having trouble getting the game still....try downloading the Dedicated Server instead. The files are the same, and it seems to work more consistently.

Valve totally stole the idea to shoot guns in L4D from Half-life 2.
The comparisons are a bit more relevant with this release of the game because of the way it handles hint messages and everything, that part feels very L4D.
But yeah, this game is awesome. Managed to play a little over half of the campaign with some random pubbers before connection was lost.
Question (kind of spoilery i guess? if you haven't gotten too far in the game)
How the fuck do you deal with infestation? The game says to heal, but both the personal heal pack and the medic's bag only serve to delay your inevitable explosion. Do you just have to wait it out with medkits until the parasite falls off or gets bored?
Hmm, I hope this game isn't too intense for my computer. It runs Source fine, but with a shitload of aliens splattering all over the place? Might prove to be too much.

I really like how the perspective and controls allow you to follow the group and actually point your gun towards the rear, in essence watching everyone's backs. Game is hard, but fun.

This game gives me an alien syndrome feel and I LOVE that! But it's more, so much more.
Anyone have anything on why all these games have local IPs and are completely unjoinable to me?
I've asked that a few times, but it keeps getting bumped by all the bitching about download speeds.
I can't offer any help, other than that I've spent the last two hours trying to make it work, but it just won't. There's no documentation for why it does that or how to get a server running that actually works.

Go to your Edit Your Profile page and towards the top under your Identity stuff you can set a custom URL for your account. So set it up to Zombiemambo and your URL should be what it says there.

I can't either. Every server I try to join has a 192 address as well, so I can't use the console to join either. It's all useless.
Can't find any documentation on ports to forward either.

You shouldn't need any ports that you wouldn't otherwise have open for Steam anyway; i.e.:
27014-27050 (TCP) 4380, 27000-27030 (UDP)
At least that seems to work for me for pretty much anything Valve/Steam.
